Ski help please!

Hey everyone on NS, I'm just getting into skiing and I'm about 5'9" or 5'10". I weigh about 130 to 140 and was thinking about what ski size to get. Do you think a 180cm would be alright, or should I be looking longer or shorter. Any help is appreciated

Im thinking cause your just getting into skiing, I'd go with 175 around there should work. Im about the same size as you and im currently skiing on 159's and a pair of crappy 176's and i like the both great.

that sounds about right. maybe a little long but you will get better and like them more

i dont know dude id go shorter than 175 id go to a 171 or 169 ish

im 5'9 and currently skiing 160's u should get high 160's or low 170's

its really up to three things:

Personal preference,

Type of skier you are

And where you will be skiing

So for me, i am an all mountain/ backcountry skier, so i dont go into the park and really want a well performing ski, so i usually go longer. So i have 185 ARV's and 186 Comis (because they only come in that size is the main reason, but anyway)

But the sizing usually goes like this:

Beginner = ski tip at the chin

Intermiate= ski tip at nose

Advanced= Ski tip at top of for head (where my all are)

But based on the assumtion that you will be in the park, i would get a 170 ish, but no longer than a 175, and no shorter than a 165.
