Ski Gabber Stoked Thread.

Not sure how this hasn't happened yet.

Post about anything skiing related. Whether its personal achievement/goal, weather related, existential, theoretical, etc that has you fucking stoked about skiing right now...

Mine: The 2015-2016 season might be the first good snowfall season I've had since moving back to California. The excitement is brewing.
 
Having a trick you've wanted to do all last season and putting it down first try in preseason. I dig that.
 
Just watching everyone getting stoked for this season and that makes me feel happy that people feel the same way about skiing as I do, and i can't wait to get back on the skis after an early season accident that ended in me breaking my ankle. Big plans for middle to late season, once the powder starts really dumping and my ankle is all healed up!

My home mountain (hill) opens up today. Only 15 minutes from home so a lot of shredding will be done.

Hell yeah. Granite is not enjoying the weather this year.

Getting my skis mounted now, but I'll be up there next weekend.
 
I'm kind of bummed and stoked at the same time. My jacket just came in and my new skis are coming back from being mounted today but my dad said there is a very low chance that we will be able to go skiing before christmas. And to add on to that carinthia opened and I can't ski it until winter break
 
New skis for this year plus taking a long trip out to Colorado/Utah with a friend when we graduate in December. Beyond stoked for this season.

yup. its 60 here today. My boss is saying beginning-mid January for opening.

But at least I have a set up to be hyped on... i guess?

And killington is only 7 hours away

And a week in Whistler should be cool.

Maybe we will stay open into March.

Blue Mountain delayed, MSLM delayed....but I got new goggles (M20) and my first *new skis...that's new...not off Kijiji...not someones second hand skis...(Elan Puzzle TBT)...still super stoked. I don't care which resort opens first, I'm going to it. Ski movies, scattered snow, also has me losing sleep at night due to stoke.
 
Well I skied on a backyard all summer and fall and then we got a foot of snow. I found a small hill and put some pvc pipes down. The snow was basically gone and I went to Alpine to ski so that was a blast. Now I am sad because all the snow is gone and I have to wait more for Winter to comeback and stay for good.
 
love the influx of early/pre season edits that come out during the first few weeks of the season. I can just imagine them going through a day's footage and yelling inaudible stoked sounds at the monitor.
 
Headed over to Alta with my dad and sister and had a blast yesterday. Cant say ive ever had pow turns this early on in the year, hopefully its a sign of things to come. I wanna get fuckin pitted again this year.

Raged super fast cold groomers all day today and dicked around on some righteous side booters. Just a shame yellow coats are in every damn corner now in PC lol
 
stoked my ankles not as broken and i managed to stuff it in my boot for 2 hours of turns yesterday, hurt like hell but still better than sitting at home
 
mt opened today and I skied all day despite it being shitty and we had to set up the park. it was just nice to ski with the homies again and i also kind of learned butters too which is neat
 
Going out to Keystone for the second time ever. I'm from Ohio so its a big deal haha, plus weeds legal. Perfect way to bring in the new year.

I'm working on expanding my set up now due to lack of snow. Maybe I'll sell my skis for rollerblades
 
making good use of the preseason in the NW with the AT setup. Shredding for opening weekend at whissy and finding out that the Atomic blog and maker baron combo is golden all have me stoked rn.
 
Helped 2 of my friends get their first backie today. Already at 6 days so this season should be pretty dam great. Already learned 2 new tricks this season

I went back to my apartment which is set-up-less. But it's still like 50s here so maybe I'll go blading to fill the void.

Or maybe I'll take up a new hobby until it snows, like knitting or crying.
 
seeing posts on instagram and seeing every skier just rage their buddy in it is what i love and why i love winter and the whole ski community
