Ski Finder Excel Sheet

So I posted this in gear talk but I would like to hear some more opinions.Since I just bought a pair of new skis I thought it would be nice to have a united and more advanced way of finding a good ski for yourself. I would make this as an excel sheet and have skis from all companies with their sizes, dimensions, flex, rocker, and overall rating. So I just have a few questionsWhat else would you like to see?

Would this be worth my time to make?

Is there anything already like this?

Thanks +K for feedback and bumps

id love to help man. it'd have to be updated every year but i think its a great idea!maybe a lot of work for one person, but 2+ could definitely get it done.

I think it could potentially be fucking sweet, but not on an excel spreadsheet. You would need some way for buyers to choose what specs are important to them

Like, to narrow down what kind of skis they are comparing (ex. if im trying to buy rockered park skis, i i want to only have to look through rockere park skis, not everything)

this idea would work well as a java applet/matlab script. where you put in preferences on length, width, flex, preference on brand, etc. and you get results with details pictures and stuff and then each year it would be a case of updating the database with details of skis. i have basic knowledge of java to know its possible but dont have the abillity to acctually do it.

I've been doing this just for fun for the last couple years. I have a massive spreadsheet including armada on3p k2 line atomic moment some surface and a few salomon pieces

Once upon a time there used to be a pdf with exactly this... it would show things like dimensions, but i think it also showed flex patterns... it had literally all the models from that year. and you could compare multiple skis at the same time, too. It was the craziest thing I have ever seen. I dont have the file anymore as it was definitely at least 3 or 4 years ago, and I don't have that laptop anymore. i'll try and find it though... I wonder if there exists one for this year...

You could do it via macros in VBA in excel. Give the user options such as waist width between 70-80, 80-90, etc. as well as stiffness rating 1-10 (the problem with this is some of the stiffness ratings would be objective).
