I just got new skis and ive skied twice one them already this year. The edge is wearing out underfoot very fast from hitting rails and im wondering how to keep my edges in good shape

What make and model of ski?

Are your edges de-tuned underfoot, and do you regularly clean off burrs and nicks with a file? If not, that will help drastically increase the edge life of any ski.

Don't hit rails.

Your edge is going to lose its sharpness, but chances of it just wearing away are slim. Youll break the ski before the edge is gone. If you want sharp edges dont hit rails.

I have worn away edge wayy before even coming close to breaking the ski (Nordica Ace of Spades) so I don't really agree with you

rails destroy skis. its a fact.

I have found that slightly rounding my edge about 6 inches wide underfoot decreases edge catching and edge burring. you'll need to file out burs that will happen as mentioned above though.

watch out for the dreaded edge cracks. they'll getcha! park skis skied hard dont last me much more than a season
