Ski Chipping

I would say no. I'm currently riding a pair of volkl walls with about a 6" by 2" piece of topsheet missing, and they ride fine. It will probably affect the longevity of the ski, because it lets water in, but other than that, it shouldn't affect performance imo

it really doesnt, chipping is mostly cosmetic, all the pairs of skis iv ever had or my friends or anyone i know has there skis chip to some degree, so its really not that big of a deal

It is just cosmetic. If you do not like the look (I know it annoys me a little) you can try to file down the sides of the topsheet so that you aren't chipping topsheets when your skis hit eachother
