So next year i was thinking of organizing a ski bus through school. I have a couple problems. one is there is not alot of people who ski or snowboard in my school because the closest hill is granite peak whitch is like 3 and a half hours away so how can i get people to join who are new to skiing . secondly does anybody have tips for renting a bus for a day. help is appreciated

+++k for help.

thanks for your time

it will probably be hard to do through your school unless you go to a chill private school.

You should try to do it through your town and neighboring towns instead.

It's a good idea. Talk to your school. They may have a bus solution for you. You might want to try to set up a group lesson at the hill to encourage new skiers to go and learn.

(1) talk to the ski area and ask to talk to group sales. they hire people to set this kind of thing up.

(2) talk to your school about getting permission to advertise this on campus. get them on your side and how this will be a positive annual event, bring ppl together, help local economy, etc....

(3) Depending on your age, you might also want to get some chaperones (teachers and/or parents). Sounds lame but this might be a huge selling point for a lot of parents to allow their kids to go. If you can't fill this bus, then you probably wont be able to make it happen (unless ppl drive themselves).

this is true but I'm guessing that most schools don't have to drive 3+hours to get to a mountain, my schools ski club was only a 25 minute drive to the mountain

Thanks for all the tips everyone this gave me an idea where to start. Btw i asked a teacher at our school who snowboards and he said that there used to be a ski bus.

im assuming your school is rather close to a mountain? my high school was about 2 hours away and they pretty much told me to fuck off

I did this last year. It took us 2 years to start because of all of the shit you have to do. You have to have a teacher sponsor to get it approved. We told the resort and they gave us discount season passes. You need to have everyone pay the buss fee. We used school busses and one of the buss drivers was a teacher so he drove for free all we had to do was pay for gas. Its fun to do but its a lot of work.

PM Me if you have any more questions.
