How much do you think it would cost for me to ski bum for a winter after I've finished with highschool? I was thinking of taking a year off driving to colorado and ski bumming but I didn't know if I'd be able to pick up a job while there, or if it would be easier to just save up every summer up till then and have like 3k for the whole winter?

$1000 for a pass

$500/month rent for 6 months

$100/week for food

total rough estimate, based on nothing really, but generally you shouldn't have to spend more than that, other than the food budget - if you like eating out a lot, food cost could be huge.

you also need a party budget as well, which can add up extremely quickly. and a travel budget/car insurance & gas will add up as well.

$500 for pass, $1000 if you want multiple

$125 for food a week, 75$ if you costco that shit up

Live in your car dude, will save you a ton of money. Rent can be anywhere from 200-800 a month. (200 if you split with people)

grow and mix your own party supplies beforehand haha.

Make sure you keep a grand on hand for any emergencies, arrests, car trouble, and strippers

watch season 2 of travelling circus

1 because its awesome

2 because theres a guy who ski bums at hood

3 because its awesome

I took this semester of school off. i collect unemployment. all i do is ski and work on my car. figured this is the one chance i get to do it. and I'm loving it

get a job at a resort so you get a free pass, then use your paychecks to pay for food/rent. save up money before hand for gettin gout there, saftey buffer, new gear/beer.

get a job as like a dinner waiter and then you can ski till like 3 or4 and work at night

some lodges provide living for emps not all though

One option is to work as a skiing teacher aswell? But I guess that kinda fails if you want to ski by yourself/with your mates.

if you know people living near the hills you could be a couch bitch and pay around 100 bucks a month for rent.

I couch surfed and slept in my car for about half of this budget. There are a lot ways you can cut corners while ski bumming, but conditions can easily get pretty miserable at times. If you want to ski bum COMFORTABLY, this is a pretty accurate budget.

ski bum on weekends i do and i have it on lock now go to the coffee shop watch tv till 7 go ski till 11 then go to the lodge watch movies play ping pong till 12 then sleep in the car then get a continental breakfast in the morning and ski all day repeat

$100 + a week for food?? what the fuck are you people eating? I spend $100 a month on food and have a very healthy and balanced diet.

What I done is work my ass off in summer ... got 2 jobs but its fully worth it bro.

Im here in Fernie BC paying $400 (canadian) all bills included a month and still have 500 a month for food and beverage which goes a long way if you budget right and shit!!! Dont buy good food buy No name but make sure u eat veggies and meat and your good.

When partying drink as much before as you can!! FInd the cheapest and strongest beer poss... (COlt 45 wer I am) and then go out!

Then HAVE FUN!!!

i worked at alta. i was a lifty but there are jobs at the gold miners daughter and peruvuan lodge that provide onsight housing.

building/maitence and kitchen jobs get pretty good ski time
