Does anyone know anything about skiing in Japan? All i know is they gets tons of snow out there, and I could probably get a lax job teaching english so I could ski a lot.

Has anyone done some ski bumming in Japan? Is it good? What is the best resort for pow/park? Any help would greatly appreciated.

go to nieseko,

thats one of the best resorts there, apart from that i know nothing about skibumming in japan.

would be pretty expensive i guess

I went with a friend to Japan 2 yrs ago with enough money for the 2 week train pass, and I planned on $80 per night for some kind of hotel, and $60 per day for lift tickets. I went to a place in Nagano called Happo One (probably about 5 hr train ride from the Narita Airport in Tokyo), and everything was cheaper than we planned on.
Lift tickets were like $40, a hotel with breakfeast and onsen was around $50 per night. We skied deep pow, and toward the end of our trip, we hit the park at one of the smaller resorts and found some urban in the city. The most expensive part was a taxi from the train station to the resort.

Also, out at the resorts it really helps if you can speak Japanese. Not a lot of English speakers.
If you want to teach English out there, look into the Jet program: http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/jet/
They pay for your rent, food, and travel, and you get paid well. You just have to find an opening close to skiing.
