Ski Building

Are there any more ski builders on here? I recently started getting into it and I think it's fun, but I suck at it (I used a clamp press, but I'm making a pneumatic press) any tips?

HI im new to the site . does anyone have any experience with vacuum presses? Also how many CFM would be sufficient for this application. i have a pump right now that has 1.5 CFM seems weak.

I'm not sure of the exact CFM of the pump I use but I'm pretty sure its around 1.5 CFM given the price I paid for it and the new versions for sale from where I bought mine (i'll check the spec plate, next time I'm in the workshop). I have made ~20 pairs of skis using it with good results.

I've found the more important factor is getting a good seal on the bag, i.e properly using good quality vacuum bag, components and sealant tape.

There's a good thread here with plenty advice and information about building skis here:https://www.newschoolers.com/forum/...Pressing-Shaping-Building-Constructing-Thread
