Ski Brands vs Mountain Bike Brands

Thanks to the current global pandemic situation ending our seasons early I'm sure a lot of people's minds are already starting to wander towards bikes. This got me thinking about mountain bike brands and what their ski company equivalents would be. Here's what I've got so far:

Trek = Volkl - Really expensive but tends to end up on the podium a lot

Commencal = Faction - Euro AF and makes very refined edits with stunning cinematography

Giant = Salomon - Everyman's bike brand and you'll see these in abundance all over the world

Specialized = Atomic - Like Giant but more performance focused and also tends to win more

Yeti = Stoklii - Expensive AF but you get what you pay for (Debateable)

Santa Cruz = Armada - Bikes/skis for cool kids who don't just ride park (but mostly ride park)

Scott = Scott - duh...

Anyone else got any more??

(Fun fact: Commencal also make skis lol)

I would have said Transition for K2 - both from just outside Seattle both making pretty rad skis/bikes

Transition = ON3P

The mannerisms of both companies are very similar and they're both from the PNW.

If you threw in something about outdated geometry I might agree with you

I also haven't seen gt or intense anywhere here and that makes me sad

How about Liberty = Intense

Cheaper than many of their rivals, punch above their weight, polarizing graphics, US brands made overseas... take your pick!

How about black diamond = ibis?

They both have cult following even though they always seem to be a step behind their rivals

This checks out

Lol I'm currently running Liberty Transfers and an Intense Uzzi ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If by comparing Fox to Pivots you are insinuating that both are overrated in their performance and aren’t nearly as good as most ‘experienced’ people believe, you’re fairly spot on. Haha. Pivots are fine and all, but there are other bindings that are equally as good. Fox makes the most overrated suspension out. I would choose numerous companies forks before I’d pay for a fox.

Fox makes great suspension, but so does RockShox and Marzocchi. I’d have to agree Fox is a little more expensive than it needs to be.

I reread your comments, and so I wanted to buy a brand new bike.

However, I do not really understand them, I only like to ride. My first serious bike was given to me by my brother, he chose it according to his taste, and it turned out to be very good. Now it's time to change it. What can you guys advise me? I like to go cycling in the fresh air on the weekends, nothing special. Until I find a suitable bike, I decided to upgrade this one a bit, spending no more than $20 on it. I decided to change the headlights and some small parts to protect myself and others. So, I'm waiting for suggestions, thank you in advance.

all unrivaled in the ski industry, as far as I know there isn't a single kids only niche brand for skis. Big untapped market space, [tag=17763]@JLev[/tag]

I hear ya, the challenge for kids skis is parents don't want spend real money knowing they'll outgrow them in 1 season. That's why there's so much ski leasing. Any parents buying kids skis can get super cheap from the big brands Rossi, K2, etc. which I can't compete with because they use mediocre materials in huge factories and are ok with small margins so really tough for a kid specific brand to compete in price.... even if offering higher quality. I think there's more potential once the kid is 140cm + which is why I offer The Max ski in 140 & 150cm for $399, not the cheapest but very affordable for what you get 100% same high quality materials and construction and performance as adult skis.

Julian arteaga and Dylan Manley don’t compare IMO. Julian is super ocd about style and making tricks look clean.

Eclat is part of the WeThePeople conglomerate. One of the biggest in BMX and definitely not Vishnu.

also if your considering Line as the original core freestyle company you’d be closer with S&M.

true but i was thinking like dylan and julian both don’t send huge stuff. they just got 100% steeze

Jesper and Matt Jones? Innovative, creative riders who happen to go for a edited, high end, well(over) produced style rather than something more core?
