Ski boots

Sorry if this is a repost

How tight do you buckle your boots when hitting the park? This is my first year and everytime i was riding i had strap my self in as tight as they would go and i would usually get shin bang. My friend told me that that was the reason for my shinbang and to loosen up my boots when im riding. Is this true? it feels weird because i can lift my heel up when its loose like that.

+K for people who arent assholes and/or someone who makes a douchy comment but its actually entertaining

If your Boots are buckled tight and your still gettin shinbang try some booster straps to really get your calf strapped in the top of the boot. Pretty sure loosening your boots will just make it worse. Did you get your boots properly fitted??

You shouldn't need to buckle super tight. Buy smaller and/or narrower boots from a good shop.

Loosening boots allow your shin to move more and creating more shin bang. I agree with the kid 2 above, booster straps will help reduce shin bang.

Get some good boots even if its your first year. I didnt think it would make a big deal having good boots but it makes all the difference!!

boot fitter, try wraping the powere strap in between the liner and the shell, instead of just around the shell.

Yea i have these crappy boots that I got for free. I might be getting some fulltilts next year. So get some spks or FTs it will make a huge difference

Sorry if you keep seeing me post this, but people keep asking about shinbang and these are the main causes of shinbang. You need to know that not only 1 thing causes it. If you have it, examine this list:

-not having a footbed

-boot is wrong size (usually too big than too small)

-continually landing backseat

-having a gap between the tongue of the boot and your shin, either because you have chicken legs or simply because the tongue just doesn't match up to your leg

-boots that are too soft for you

-boots that are too stiff for you

-boots that are too low on your leg

so, if you do the opposite of what I just wrote, shinbang is most likely not going to happen to you. As you can tell, a properly fit boot is your best bet against getting shinbang.

Yes and no, dont get spk or full tilt. Buy a boot that fits you thats will make a huge difference, but yea, in majority of the time if the spk fit, the ft wont. If you really want a '' park '' boot, full tilt, spk, atomic dead money and ace of spade, dalbello make some. Btw you dont need a park boot too ski park.

yea i know you dont need a park boot but it helps. now i have these all mountain boots, they get the job done but not the best for the jumps.

Sounds like your boot is probably too big. If you have the buckles maxed, they are def too big, or you are in a crazy wide boot and you have a very narrow foot.
