When did skiing start to become snowboarding? And god o god y? Please Jesus help this sport avoid the terrible style and shitty attitude that snowboarders have always had! Even a lot of the pro movies are getting hard to watch smh. I blame jiberfish for starting out sweet then dragging us all downhill.
 
When did snowboarding become skateboarding? When did skateboarding become surfing? When did surfing become cock fighting? Point is all these sports feed off each other and when one progresses they all progress.

Dude fuck that Snowboarding is the best thing to happen to Skiing. If Skating hadn't influenced boarding hadn't influenced skiing, we would all still be stuck in the stone ages, throwing mute cork 7's and misty's off of errythang. And on a modern update, snowboarding made skiing cool again. We robbed their asses, but for good reason. They have style out the wazoo, they don't take shit because they know they're rad as hell, expression is actually an acceptable thing, and most pro snowboarders are ballsier than every pro skier combined (don't even make me shut you down when you try to disagree with the last part, it's a documented fact. There are snowboard videos that make Stept look like god damn girl scouts).

Point being, snowboarding is dope and although it owes its existence to skiing, our kind of skiing owes a whole lot to snowboarding.

And everyone knows skating is radder than anything any of us will ever do on snow so there's that too.

i agree with your sentiment that snowboarding is super dope and both sports owe each other a lot, but you lose me when you start going down the gargling snow- and skateboarding's balls trail. snowboarding is def ahead of us in some aspects, like urban, but there are def areas where skiing remains on top (most aspects of big mtn/BC besides a handful of standouts like rice, jones, and a couple others).

and skating is super dope but the action sports world's infatuation with it is really odd, it's had time to mature so it's in really good form but the idea that it's gnarlier than skiing and snowboarding at the top level is pretty absurd

If you actually watch it over time, skiing in fact becomes snowboarding every single year.

Its just snowboarding of about three years ago.

I no . . . It's just sad though. Snowboarding right now is pretty terrible to watch. Future looks salty!
