Sketchy Look Pivots

This year i decided to buy a pair of pivot 14s. I got them because i heard how great they are and how they release at the most needed times. But the thing is, they made me feel less confident. when i first clicked into them, i noticed a big gap between the back on my boot and my heel piece (before i clicked in) On all my other bindings that I have had my boot is very snug with the binding. Is the pivot supposed to do this? I also found that i can feel the heal piece move around while high speed carving and drifting. It's a very weird feeling. One time i was skiing on them and went to do a 180 and one ski released randomly as i skied out switch. I keep my dins at 8 in the front and 9 in the back. i weigh about 160lbs 5'8 and i was riding on my moment deathwish 174. Did the shop i go to miss mount them? Or is it supposed to be like this? My buddies are a bit bigger than I am and they ride on the 18's and they don't have a problem with them at all. If thats how the pivots are supposed to feel, I'm thinking of selling them..............

+K to anyone with good advice and/or help

Sounds like your forward pressure isn't set properly. On the base of the heel of your Pivots there should be a white tab and two little dashes on either side of the tab. The white tab should be exactly aligned with these two dashes. If the tab has not reached the dashes then your forward pressure is two low and this could be what is causing the feeling of shakiness in your bindings.

Just head into the shop. It should take seconds. There's an indicator that a tech knows to look for to make sure everything's copacetic. Bring your boot and don't be surprised if they just click it into both then tell you it's fine. Pivots are top shit and you made a good purchase.

Just take them into the shop and have them check them out. I have never felt like that with mine.

yea i have never ever ever ever had these problems either. sounds to me like your forward pressure is messed up. take them to a shop op.

as for the heel piece on your boot, that tells me that the forward pressure isnt right. on mine the heel piece wraps around the heel sooo nicely, that way it doesnt chip off pieces of your heel like normal bindings. fks are killer and it sounds like theyre just not set right
