hey im thinkin this summer i wanna get into longboarding. i got some money, but what boards are good? im a smaller guy, 5'7 and 115 pounds. suggestions? websites? thanks.

www.longskate.com is a good site. longboarding is a lot of fun. Just don't take hills that are too big for your skill level, or go on wet pavement, you fall so fast and hard.

Sector Nine makes some decent long boards, kinda more high tech ones, and there are a bunch of other brands that make the kinda old school ones out of wood, which are really cool, but sector nine has those too if i remember right. depending on where you live you should be able to find them at most ski/surf/skate shops. I am like 6'2 and i have a four and a half foot that is super stable and rides really smooth. Just test them out and see which one you like the best

 
i made sliding gloves. Now i can get real low, and put my hand down and take fucking smooth turns.

do the weel of longboards are the same uthérane as sk8board wheels?

because to do a powerslide at 30mph if u don't slide enough ur dead

well longboard wheels are bigger and softer, so you don't get speed wobbles. But you can by hard wheels for sliding.

whatever you do... do not get a sector nine complete, the trucks and wheels are crap, the decks are decent, especially for your weight.

the best truck/wheel set up for cruising/carving/whatever are 180mm randal r2 trucks(with tracker stimulator bushings) and abec11 flashbacks for wheels. deck recommendations include landyatchz, fibreflex and bozi.

I was thinking of getting a Long board but that was bofore I lurned how to Olie. I might still get one in a while
