and was like "That looks really familiar". 2:04

This spot was also in Refresh. Post more spots like this or maybe this is stupid but I thought it was pretty cool.

No shit skateboarders have been street skating before snowboarders or skiers started doing urban. Good job, want a cookie?

Why do people love to talk up other sports and talk down about skiing? Don't you ski? I just don't get why people feel the need to defend other shit when we're here to talk about skiing, not how dumb it is about how we "copy everything..."

Basically, so fucking what, that doesn't need to be brought up and it doesn't matter.

This. And really, we aren't copying much of anything. People have been rippin on skis long before snowboards ever came around. And people were doing the same shit as snowboarders were, but it wasn't embraced by the industry at the time because they didn't see $$$ in it. And we were only held back from going bigger and harder then boarders by our technology. This site is mainly skiers, so it is crazy how few people keep our history in mind, and remember we have always been at the same level as boarders... Just not as recognized because of the lack of support by the industry and the community of rich snobs who thought racing/moguls was the end all/be all of skiing. We have borrowed alot of titles for tricks, but we really don't do them the same for the most part.. Both skiers and boarders take more from skating then anything. So if anybody is going to complain about "copying" then stick to how much we copy skating. Because snowboarding is around because of skiing, and freeskiing got more recognition (allowing us to showcase we are just as legit) because of snowboarding's popularity, not because of it's style, etc. So I'd say people need to stop talking down on our sport, because we have done just as much (with much less of an industry to support us). Plus, we are on the same mountains, in the same parks with the same features, hitting the same urban... Some shit is going to be the same, regardless off what we do. / rant #2 of the night.

Btw, that was @DR_SHRED. Sparknotes : Skiers have always been at the same level as boarders, but our industry held us back and it cost us some recognition as snowboarding garndered all the attention, thus allowing them to become so much bigger. Which is why every douche thinks they did everything first, when they really just got noticed for it first...

Haha yeah I know. I saw Henrik doing that same little dance Gooner did and I knew he was about to hit that rail. It's a sick spot for sure.

If skiers are hitting the same handrails that have been hit by skateboards, then said skier need to man up and go hit something else. Skating is the most difficult and gnarly sport in the world in my opinion so if they can do it then skiers are huge pussies.

no... skiing its harder to get speed in an urban enviroment although we can build a jump mkaing an easier way to pop on to the feature the feature will still be hard no matter what

you forget about the speed issue. and do you ever see skaters hitting 6 link rails? Or dub kink elbows? Skiers do hit gnarlier stuff

^ if either of you think that skiing is more difficult than skateboard then you need to re-examine your lives. im not saying skiers dont hit gnarly shit im just saying that if your hitting a gnarly skate spot which in almost all cases is much smaller/less gnar than any gnarly ski spot. this is because skateboard shit is way doper and tech/difficult and stylish than skiing and snowboarding. its much harder to grind even 5 feet on a skate than it is to slide 25 on skis, let alone do a trick onto or off.

just for the record a great majority of freestyle skiing is wack as hell, boarding has its moments but is much much doper than skiing will ever be. and skating takes the crown no doubt.

i board on snow and concrete and i still ski, mostly pow but mainly just trying to stay away from the cliche living in nowhere usa starting a 'production co.' with my friends trying to copy eveything i can to be tom martini like yourself

i think its kinda wierd how everyone seems to have some sort of hate for the sport that isn't theirs, i don't think this thread was created to hate on skaters but it could be so sick if the hate wasn't there, we all got the same objectives... ive got nothing sensible to say
