Skateboarding in South East Asia

Yoo, boarders and backpackers of NS!

I'm about to go work in Bhutan for 10 weeks then travel around for about a month afterwards and I'm thinking about taking a skateboard. I'm gunna check out Bangkok, Malaysia, Nepal and places around that area and I was wondering if any of you adventurous kids have been there thinking they really should have brought a board OR went there with a board and wish they didn't take it as they are a little bit obnoxious and heavy to carry. I'm thinking a lighter oldschool board might be fun there, any suggestions help.

Thanks crew!

spent 10 months in SEA last year. There are many sick places to skate all around thailand, if you want to get adventurous there are some pretty cool provincial cities in Isaan. Where i lived in Korat even had a skate park, i almost bought weed from the kids who skate there

Just out of curiosity, what are you doing in Bhutan?

I'm there for ten weeks going to the University and doing some volunteer work. Possible something along the lines of biodiversity research and/or tourism assessment. It's part of an internship for my bachelors
