Skate 1 SO MUCH more legit then Skate 2

Forgot how buggy and unlegit Skate 2 was.

Skate 1 had such a more core feel to it, skate 2 really feels like some bs that was just pushed out, and you'd think given the network access they have that they'd fix the bugs.

arg,

Someone send me a copy of Skate 1 haha

Skate 2 just seems to different. It's almost too easy. The game stomps tricks for you. Skate 1 also has a far superior mega compound which can be easily double flipped.

skate 2 has more of an actual "skateboard" feel to it. i mean, in the original skate, i could do switch 10s, switch double 9s and other crazy tricks that should be reserved for sports like skiing or snowboarding (or in henrik's case, snowblading.) to my knowledge, no one has yet to land a trick like that on a skateboard.

i agree skate 1 is way more legit
throwing corks was sooo much smoother in skate 1 plus everything just seemed so much more real.skate two is the baby of skate and tony hawks proving ground...its just got taht tony hawk feeling

I agree with this actually. The map in skate 1 was wayyy better. The spots are better in skate 1. Like, how bullshit is it that there isn't just a good, normal vert ramp in skate 2 that doesn't have some channel gap or wedge to fuck up on, its kind of frustrating. Well and coming from skate 1, where ou can 10 if you are mobbing and pop well, you keep on trying it in skate 2 until you are just like well what the fuck, I guess you just can't.

Yeh u can dub flip/cork in Skate 1, have yet to be able to do it in Skate 2 without tricking the game or ending up half way across the map.

i have skate 1 too haha, i like how you can double flip way easier, and how the spinning i think was better

i mean in skate two you can do a 3 on flat, then when you get onto a big jump can only 7 if your lucky, just never made sense to me until i found out the trick that if you dont pop you can do niines, and tens

Skate 2 came out what a whole 8 months after Skate 1?

I am pretty sure they rushed it due to the success of the first one.

Not sure what it is exactly, but the first one is SO much more fun to play and I f'ing can't find it.

And as far as skateparks go, nothing compares to X-games park in Skate. I mean, the training facility in Skate 2 is fun, but it's really just Plan B park from Skate on roids. It kills me that they made that download that has the community center and whatever else from Skate, but it doesn't include X-Games.

jea, it is a good game all around, but can't deny the issues with it still.

First game had so much more passion to the finer details.

Just remember when I first came to rob and big. Legit spent hours trying to beat that shit and loved every second. Honestly haven't even bothered trying with the first follow this tool at mach 7 mission.

or they just took the game skate 1 and improved on it for 2 which takes a lot less time than creating a game from scratch....

if you can actually play the game, skate 2 is way better. physics in it make corks/rodeos so much more baller. graphics and game play way more smoother and polished. not being able to dub flip and cork is a really dumb reason to hate on the game. whoever said its more like tony hawk can go choke on a dick. so much different.

i used to disagree, but once i figured out how to kang / double cork in skate one i started to like it more.
but what is jib life?

same deal as amped 2 and 3. 3 blows haha i played like 10 minutes of it and felt like puking

anyone else have weird like framerate issues with skate 2? like every couple of minutes it freezes for like a half second and skips a bunch of frames

well yea you can do em by popping(without not popping=double negative)

i'm just saying the easiest way is by not popping, got a couple tens down today

I didnt buy Skate 2 because i dont feel like its really worth a whole new game. its more of an expansion on Skate 1 than a new game entirely.

However, i did play Skate 2 and the spins/flips are definitely more realistic compared to 1. Sure being able to kang/doubleflip is fun, but its hardly realistic when the biggest spin on a skateboard is a 10 (i think).

Skate 1 was revolutionary, Skate 2 perfected the series. I cant stand the camera angle glitches that happen in skate 1 all the time. Skate 2 has a larger trick book, better environments, and amazing rail feel. Both games epic in there own right

skate 1 blew everyones mind because it was the first of its kind. skate 2 is just a better version of the original and therefore didnt have the same mind blowing affect so some people dont give it the respect it deserves...

Jib-Lifeno disrespect or anything cause i respect you a lot for your game, your the man.BUTTTT i disagree, skate 2 graphics are better, the skating i find is better, more tricks that you could possibly do in real life (boneless), more tricks that are innovative (grabs on rails and such) and more places to skate. I also like the interface better.

Sequels suck. It's true of movies, it's true of video games. Example: fallout 3.

yea agreed. 2 was more realistic but mayb to realistic. stomping doubles in skate 1 is so much fun even though its fake.

really?? i loved fallout 3
anyway, i feel like the biggest problem with skate 2 is the lack of really outstanding rails. i have yet to find one absolutely perfect single or double-kink rail, aside from the one in the matrix plaza. it just seems to me like they put too much effort into adding security and not enough into making super trickable rails

wow, I wholeheartedly disagree. Skate 2 is just so much smoother, the animations are cleaner, it has way more of a satisfying feeling when you land something and in my opinion it is way harder to land in skate 2. Play skate 2 and then skate 1 and you will see. Dont get me wrong, skate one was an unbelievable game and absolutely shattered barriers, but skate 2 is clearly an improvement. It just feels more real to me. In my opinion the fun track level far outweighs any advantages that skate 1 may have had in terms of x-games/mega compound.
I like the finer points of the game, I love to get ripped and just bomb from the top of the mountain all the way to the waterfront, and just the general carving and pumping controls are so much more legit, I could carve turns in that game for hours. Also, I think that when mastered, the vert in skate 2 is just unbelievable, the way it vibrates when you pump just right, just overall cleaner from the riding perspective.

also, in my opinion the number one greatest aspect of skate 2 that isn't in skate 1 is being able to get off your board and walk, that way if you see a spot you can actually get to it instead of having to pump uphill and find your way to it.
Either way, sooo stoked for Skate 3.... and Jib-Life

Fallout is fucking awesome. So is Fallout 2. But Fallout 3 is oblivion with guns. Bethesda knows how to build worlds really well, but they really suck at plot and character systems. If you haven't played the first two you should, if you can get past the graphics being from the mid 1990s. They're just way better.
