what is it?

not sure aye, first i thought it was like grungy rock sort of stuff, and now is it like funny sort of stuff like 'together on the sand' by NOFX?

Lagwagon. Is it legal to marry a band?

Ska usually has a guitar which plays real abrupt chords, and almost always has horns and brass and shit.

BigAirSkier1580: yah

DatGrlyChick: whats that?'

yeah, you're not missing much!

lanemeyers your looking for chicks on a male dominated web site, you might have better luck picking up some scrump if you skied.

p.s. I don't usually say things like that but come on you want girls, go to a bar or something not a damn ski site. By the way p----- isn't really like warm apple pie, someday you just might find that out.

dont listen to it. you will end up listening to third wave and your brain will shrivel up and then your intestines will ooze from your ears/anus. it is really that bad

'He got fired? What did he do?'

'He jumped off of the roof again'

Upstrokes (if it has a guitar)

'ska ska ska' Beat

Horns (sometimes)

Walking bass line

If you want to hear REAL ska get: Skatalites - Rude Boy Dreams

You get the first ska band to ever record a song (skatalites) playing with one of the most famous Jamacan ska vocalists (laurel autkin).

If you want 2-Tone get: The Specials - Stereotype

If you want 3rd wave junk, it's easy enought to find...

high, short guitar chords (often played on a les paul), sometimes a horn section, quick beats, repetitive lines, ie. less than jake, mad caddies etc, SKANK AWAY

NO! Not Less Than Jake!!

3rd wave ska (stuff like that) is nothing like true ska (and traditional is the only real ska IMO). Just check out Prince Buster, Sklatalites, etc.

yes tele, yes!!!! real ska and 2-tone are some of the best types of music around. Don Drummond, Prince Buster, Laurel Aitken, coxsonne dodd, and just about anything from Trojan kicks the shit out of third wave

'He got fired? What did he do?'

'He jumped off of the roof again'

Welcome back Tay! I suggest you guys check out the Pietasters!

Yeah, I would go down to your local CD store (even the big chains should work) and look in the compilation section. There should be atleast one box/cd set that is of traditional ska music (usually looks like it's been sitting there for a few years). If it includes any of the bands that Line1260 or I listed get it. Even if you don't like it much the odds are you just got about 2-3 hours of music for around 5 bucks.

If you can't find that look for any CD or comp or whatever that was origionally relised by 2-Tone records or mentions anything about 2-Tone. If it is checkered and has the guy from my icon on it your good to go.
