Sizing for tall skinny dudes

So, for years I have been trying to figure out my size. I am 6'2" 135 lbs. For the last 9 years or so have been riding 178, 176, and 180s. Have ridden shorter skis (171) and really enjoyed it, but thought I lookedlike I was riding snow blades. Am looking for a new pow ski with the opus and praxis protest in mind.

Wondering if anyone has any insight into skier weight balances against length in skis in this width range in regards to floatation.

I want to go as short as I can (ski mostly trees) without losing float.

INB4 you are fucking skinny, what's wrong with you

I'd really say the Sir Francis Bacon in a 178 is what you should go with. It really does crush it everywhere, powder, trees, groomers, sidecountry, and I was even taking the intermittent run through the park with them. They ski shorter than a 178 though, I think. And it was kind of misleading, because I thought it would be a lot more ski to handle. I'm 6'3 and 180lbs. for reference.

The Opus is great as well, Pollard knows how to design pow skis.

im a little smaller than you (6') but similar build and for me i find a ski that comes up to about the bridge of my nose provides enough stabilty and float for me while also being easy to manuver. for refrence i ski 175 dynastar slicers.

I have a pair of praxis protests I am looking to sell. They are 186 and skied 2 days. they are MINT. I have griffons on them and looking to sell those too. Since I paid full price and they are such an expensive ski im looking for quite a bit... around 500 since they are literally perfect but willing to talk about trades and willing to bargain the price some. Let me know. Also sorry for jumpin in and not answering your question but let me know if you are interested.

Honestly wouldn't get anything smaller than 186.

That being said, 186 ON3P Jeffery.

Light, nimble, medium flex, amazing float, kills it everywhere from the park to the steep and deep.

I see a lot of back and forth on this issue. Keep in mind that I am 135, have never ridden a modern ski over 180, and wonder if stepping into a wider ski with a longer length is going to kill my mobility. My legs look a lot like ski poles.

Your shouldn't have any problem with the length, stay on top of yourself. It's not like their these big 15 pound planks attached to you.

I know kids your weight, but smaller, and on bigger skis.

Don't feel intimidated. Once you go big, you'll wonder why you were ever on something so short
