Size up or down for Helmets?

Here is the Poc Sizing Chart

Small

53-54





Medium

55-56

Considering the Poc Receptor Bug. My head measures in at 54.5 cm. From a safety standpoint, would it be more beneficial to size up or size down on this helmet and why?

They fit small.

Size up.

definitely up.. nothing is worse then wearing a helmet that is to tight all day, it will give you a headache. Not to mention if you grow or your hair gets longer then a bigger helmet is a lot nicer.
