Sir Francis Bacon - Mounting Point

Hey Guys -

I just bought a brand new pair of 2017 Bacons, and I'm stoked! But, I got them mounted at the only line on the ski, the "recommended". Will this line be ok for riding? I want to use this ski as my daily driver, and I like to ride switch a lot. I'm nervous that this is too far back now.

Thoughts? Anybody have experience with these skis?

I got last years and planning on mounting them 2.5 cm back from center. The recommended point seems to be somewhere around 6cm back. I wouldn't mount them there.

I think recommended is 2cm back from center. Pretty sure the recommended line is highly influenced by pollard and you know how he rides.

I rode them last year and these things practically ski themselves when skiing backwards.

I'll measure where the "recommended" line is when I get home. Can't find anywhere online that says what it is.

I have the 2015 (old dimensions) model and ski them at Erics recommended. They preform like a park ski and ride switch smoothly. That being said, if you plan to do some pow skiing in more than say four inches of powder, keep them where they are. Mounting them at Erics kills the skis flotation. I have designated pow sticks so I don't mind when I have to swap on pow days but idk what your quiver is. Overall tho do what Swanny said, ski them first to figure out how they feel and if mounting them back is really killing you then remount them.

I've seen a bunch of reviews that say Bacons float well in pow at true center or Erics choice. -6 seems like a bad choice for jibbers but would work well for the rad dad. I just got a pair of the 2016 Bacons and plan to mount them at -1 for a daily driver

not sure about the new mole, but on the old when the tails were really soft mounting at -6 made it a bit easier to wash out on landings.
