Sir Francis Bacon for A/T??

I'm sorry if a thread for this subject already exists. I ran a "search" but found no results... Anyways, I am going to be buying some new all mountain skis for this year. I am really interested in the Line Sir Francis Bacons. I consider myself an upper-intermediate to advanced skier, and I love to ski the whole mountain... Other than the park... Groomers, bumps, trees, powder, side-country and some back-country....

My question is... Has anyone had any experience w/ using SFB's as an AT set-up as well as their daily driver. I'm just starting to get into some backcountry skiing, and I cannot afford to get another set of skis, to use as B.C. Skis. I was wondering how the Bacons would do with an AT binding on them?

theyll definately work, but may be a tad heavy, which may not be a huge concern unless your doing long trecks. also what kind of at binding? dynafit or a frame type (guardians, dukes, adrenalines, ect)

I'm not sure yet, honestly. What would you recommend?? I don't think I'll be doing really long trips for the time being. By the time I get to that point I'll look into a more specific touring set-up.

Alright, well, so you want more an all Mtn slack country setup with the occasional long tour or what? How often do you plan on going?

My setup is Fritschii touring bindings on K2 Made N Ak's, which is a wood core 108mm waist soft ski, its not that different than the bacons weight wise. For short tours its perfect to have a good POW ski to have on the way down. I guess I pretty much ski with people that have similar setups if everyone around me had dynafits and light skis I would get killed. It just depends on what you want to do. My setup is heavy as fuck, relatively speaking, but for mini golf and slack country touring it works good.

You got it. I'm looking for an all mountain ski... That I can take into the backcountry from time-to-time. I'd say, this season, I'll get around 10 days touring in the backcountry.

I really know nothing about backcountry gear. I went with some friends last year, but I just boot-packed it, and used my JJ's for the ride down. I have been doing a lot of research on backcountry skiing and it's something that I keep getting more and more into, but I am also very aware of the dangers, and I know that nothing is as educational as experience, and that is why I have decided to slowly get into bc and touring.

So, really, I need any info, help, tips, ideas, and/or recommendations that yall can give! Thanks again for all the feedback!

This is totally OFF TOPIC... But, how do I change my profile pic? My mac is currently down, so I'm using my phone, as my prime source of Internet... Thanks In Advance!

Sounds like they would work fine with some adrenalines or guardians slapped on them. They will be pretty heavy, but for what you want to do they should be just fine. Skin wise I loved my black diamond nylons and haven't had any problems. Although I did buy a twin tip tail connector from G3 so the tail clip wouldn't come off as I was riding a twin tip.
