omg stop commenting if you haven't seen the movie, it wasn't just bc, there was a lot of park skiing as well...zoomed shots of the same tricks over and over but it was still there, seriously stop posting if you havent seen the movie
 
that sounds really shitty, those kids should be slapped.

but there is one thing i have to say from reading this thread; stop with this whole fucking "real skier thing" its so dumb coming from both sides... cant you people understand that some people like different things.
 
I think I have the rights to say anything I want. Especially at a film festival?! You have to see the movie in order to judge ! Yea it was immature to say shit like that, Im completely against that but the movie was still bad. I didnt say anything about the filming , just read my comment again, I it was just constructed in a way that the movie wasnt interesting, too much talking, too much random shots of them drinking a coffee or walking in the streets. I heard they added 30 minutes to their movie after they sent it to if3. 30 minutes of Blablabla in french with tiny subtitles... that doesnt work!

I ski park, and wear huge ass shit, i personally hate doing groomers, cliffs or powder. However, i could see how it would be appealing to others, as well as the fact that park is not the only aspect of skiing that is important. I would never do that to somebody who worked so hard on a project for if not to appreciate other parts of skiing, to show some respect to the dude who created it and apreciate how much hard work he must have put into it

This whole pow over park thing is just retarded I love park and I love powder, hell if the park is being reshaped or is closed and there is no powder ill ride groomers all day. I just love sking.

It's sad to hear about groms taking this so called "rivalry" so far...some peoples kids...

 
There's something people need to understand. In no way were people booing the big mountain skiing, the movie itself sucked and there was at least 50% park skiing (classic made up stat). Even though kids not understanding the excitement of deep pow might be an issue sometimes, that wasn't one of those times. Oh and I speak french, voice over were incredibly boring.

I'm going to say that the booing had nothing to do with the skiing in the film as the Montreal crowd was going ape shit over big lines and cheering for good shit the whole weekend. That film was premiered at the wrong time as it was the film right before 4bi9. Sweetgrass' Signatures was one of the sickest ski films I've ever watched but when it premiered at IF3, I just couldn't get into it. It's hard to get a crowd that's completely riled up from watching the sickest, most progressive shit in skiing to watching a great story. I'm sure Invinciblea has some merit as a ski film and I look forward to rewatching it and giving it an accurate portrayal.
That being said, booing is something that's going to happen and while it's unfortunate, disrespectful, and rude, without crowd reaction premiering movies wouldn't be fun. I think back to last season at the UVM premiere of Refresh when the whole crowd was chanting "Warren" over and over during Warren Miller's great narration. Sort of a shame that they missed the narration but here I am a year later recalling it because it was different.
4bi9's movie was awesome. Invincibles should have been the last movie in the block, then a 5 minute break and begin the next block of films with Gunnie Season.
Live and learn. Thankfully winter is right around the corner and we can get back to skiing.
