Sincerely, fuck you...

Well turn this story into constructive critisism.

I was there when that happend. Yes it was pretty immature to yell stuff like that. But the movie was boring and I was one of the ones clapping my hands with joy when it ended. I WAS WAY TOO LONG. The skiing parts were awsome tho and thats what people are seaking for. I think 90% of the room agread that the talking was way too long. And nobody came out of the room because it was the 4bi9 movie rite after this and nobody wanted to lose their seats because there was mad people.

People didnt like it, dont you get it? Hey, tanners movie was like 80% talking and every body was stoked on it . The subtittles were like super small and the movie was in french so after a couple of shots you just didnt feel like reading underneat.

Especially because it was telling the same story all the time. Cut on the talking and the random shots of them walking in the city.

It looked like a documentary you have on discovery channel.

I dont think that was a disgrace, I think the producer should rethink his aproach . Well the movie isnt really affective with the public intendant to touch.

If that doesnt ring a bell dude I dunno what to say, if people didnt like it, that doesnt have to do with the movie that was coming after it. Thats because it was bad, and you need to change something .

Hahaha that is so awesome... sorry man, your post was good but that cracks me up. PS it's actually "prima donna", but I'm going to use your version from now on, it's way better...

and the sad thing is that there are also so many pow lovers out there that have no respect for jibbing... everyone needs to have respect for all aspects of skiing, be it pow skiers or park skiers. I can't believe people were yelling shit like that, thats absolutely ridiculous...

I DO respect and look at all aspects of skiing. But its typically kids who just ski park and have came to their conclusion that park is the only aspect of skiing.

you re as stupid as the people booing bc shots.

i bet you re just a chicken too afraid to get upside down in the air hahaha.

and utah is sick but nowhere near as gnarly as the alps. come to my mountain in the alps idiot I bet all the park rats out there outski you.

bc is sick i love it and people should respect all the aspect of skiing.

but don't start like park is not real skiing. it s way more hardcore and you need way more motivation to do urban than to ski a pow field....

and i bet you don t ski AK so just next time please stfu :)

oh sorry, some kids expressing improperly they don't like a movie would have put you off to one of the greatest weekends ever, my bad.
and really, you would have never said anything to anyone. here's what you would have done... you would have stayed seated, quietly said to your friends something about whats going on and would have done the same thing as this person did- make a thread about it online probably adding in something along the lines of, "man if my friends talked me outta it, i would have said soo much to all you punks!" don't lie, you wouldn't have done shit.

Oh man you really got me. I dont even know what to say. If you read all my posts you would realize that A. I used too/still do ski park. B. Wasnt trying to hate on park skiing but more towards park rats and there shitty attitudes.

Also I have been to the Alps in Austria(Bad Gastien area) and yes you are absolutely right they are way bigger and gnarlier then the mountains in Utah. Congratulations. Your attitude is one of which I would probably be hating on. Im an "idiot". Grow up dude. Also your 100% right I cant ski. You should probably look at peoples profiles before you say something that can be disproven in a couple seconds. And I am wayyyy to scared to go upside down. Will you teach me oh mighty one? Actually you sound like a douche and probably arnt someone I would want to associate myself with.

Wow, that's just dumb and sad. It's got nothing to do with age or preference in skiing, but simply with attitude and maturity, which many kids have and a not so small number of older people still lack.

The intro of Level 1's Refresh did a really nice job connecting old and young, pow and park, tight pants and 6XL. Let's hope it stays that way, so we can all have fun together.

1) The us vs them way of arguing, when in terms of park & bc, is just ridiculous. Calling someone out for where they ride is petty and makes anything you say next, valid or not, completely irrelevant. The park vs bc argument should go the way of the skier vs snowboarder argument. It should have no place in the sport.

2) Anyone who is criticizing the organizers of this event should immediately retract the statement. JF & Felix put in a ton of work to make it a successful 3 day event. 3 days of ski films & parties...3 Days...at two different venues! That's 3 days, not 50 minutes in your local ski club meeting room on a college. And now they're taking IF3 on the road, so that more people can have that kind of experience. If you're complaining about watching a ski film or the schedule of a festival, then perhaps its better that you don't come next year and give up your seat to the standing room audience. Trying to argue that the booing was a result of a poor schedule choice is a shoddy excuse; don't try and rationalize for people being immature.

3) Talking, in general, should be called out. Cheering for a sick segment, sure, that's awesome. Talking over the narration...or even booing while the filmmaker(s) is in the audience is completely disrespectful. If this point is speaking directly to you, congratulations, you're a Grade A douche bag.

this i left to get more alcohol during that movie i would never say i didn't like it thought if the film maker was in the room

I ski park, i ski groomers, i ski pow.

I love all aspects of skiing and i love watching all aspects of skiing.

This makes me hate those park rats that give park skiing a bad name.

Most of the kids can't relate in anyway to the backcountry skiing. That with the fact that many of us are spoiled little bitches with 4xl suits and a attitude problem.Welcome to Quebec!I got there right after that screening and heard about it. It reminded me when TGR premiered at the first IF3 and everybody started booing when Jeremy Jones came on the screen. Its just proves the narrow mindset of your average park rat. It also shows a huge lack of respect as an individual. The producers is in the fucking room. If you dont like it, gtfo or tell it to his face, but dont cowardly scream shit hiding in the audience. And BTW, TGR hasnt been to IF3 since, which should bum everyone out

uhhh, what? your whole post sounds moronic, and in my opinion, there is no justification for flat out booing someone's art directly to their face, especially when said art took such incredible effort.
If those people wanted to make constructive criticism, thats wonderful. Thats what websites like NS and TGR are for. Waving someones film along because you are too immature and brain dead to enjoy something with substance is just frankly embarrassing.

Thank you clovenmercury.WELL AIN'T THAT SOME SHIT?(ain't that some shit?)ALTHOUGH THERE'S PAIN IN MY CHESTI STILL WISH YOU THE BEST WITH A FUCK YOUOOO OOO OOOO

Please stop telling people what to do douchebag, your take on skiing isn't gospel, which is actually what this thread is about. Skiing is what you make it To some people it's gnarly BC terrain, to some it's gnarly rails, to some it's a bunch of gate's down a slope. To me skiing is all of those things, and i respect any skier, be it a racer, a park rat or a Big Mountain skier. The ski community would be so much better off without judgmental people like you, get a life.
PS. I don't care if you can drop a 30 foot cliff either.

PS. Pull the wiener out of your ass and read the whole thread. Yes my first post was a little harsh and slightly irrational. I'll say it again its the attitudes of park rats is what I was hating on NOT park skiing.

I did read the whole thread. Im glad you (to some extent) have realised the error of your ways, but im gonna have to say that a little harsh and slightly irrational would be a severe understatement. Maybe you should read your reply again and realise how much of a diuchebag you come of as. I don't know you, and to be honest im sure you're not a douchebag, but just try to realise how much you sound like one in your initial reply. We are all into different things within skiing, and i think that's the beauty of it, but maybe you don't?

Like Ive already admitted that my statement was wrong. But it was merely directed at the people who were "booing" at IF3. Not one single BC skier would do that and thats more of what I was trying to get at. Its a matter of respect and to be completely honest with you alot of park skier are lacking.

Dont think I said that yelling shit was the way to go. And I think I was pretty clear with that too.The movie was bad, , its a film festival, people tell their opinion about movies. If they didnt like it , thats because there was something wrong.

hnmmm ok so u think you got the right to tell an accomplished filmmaker who just did a more than an hour long film with skiing all over the world ''bad'' ... yah right but when somebody says girl on skis suck theyre just haters right? so either you noob or you kidding when u doin girls on skis and secretly have filmaking talentz that ur hiding cuz that film was great , yeah probably long but nowhere near bad

More Ski Videos

What the hell? Looks like it has a bunch of park to me. Looks well rounded.

Sure, the narrator is shitty but the trailer had a good vibe.

Wow, just saw that Aurelien Ducroz was in the movie. Even less reason to boo it.

/static/images/flash_video_placeholder.png

That being said, I really find those monologues to be very annoying

after a certain time. It's always the same babble: "we're all skiers, we

all share one passion, we all view the mountain in a different way,

blablabla...". The trailer didn't look too good on this account. ;)

Damn jibblings! That movie looks amazing and it had bits of everything! I guess their tees weren't tall enough or something. I agree that the english dubbing made it sound like a zoloft commercial but that movie looks amazing! I feel like it touches on why most of us ski. Even if most of us aren't at "rock bottom" we all ski as an escape. We ski for catharsis.

thats a bummer. i mean maybe its not that fun to watch compared to park, but if you had the experience that those guys had, youd want to share how you felt too. and how amazing back country skiing is.

Quite disrespectful, I admit. but that movie was over an hour of straight up skiing that the majority hates. And they SERIOUSLY repeated that skiing was their passion because of dadadadadadada...like 30 times. It was just too much to handle. That shit had happened last year with Signature. Its not that the movies are bad really, just thats not what kids at IF3 expect and pay for. And the cheeering when ANY park shot appeared was mad hilarious.

I love how everyone is so shocked about what happened during the movie yet 99% of the people who posted here didn't see the movie. All those who were in the audience are entitled their opinion, the rest : STFU.
The photography was insane, the music was IMO the best of the whole festival and the skiing was great, when they actually showed it.
But when you show back-to-back unknown skiers (about 9 of them) talking about THE SAME FUCKIN THING over and over again you gotta expect people to get bored. I don't know why film makers don't get this yet but I am so fucking tired of cheesy voice overs saying ''Our approach on skiing is different yet we are all connected through the same passion'' or the classic ''When I got hurt, I felt like a part of me died''... WE GET THE FUCKIN IDEA, YOU'VE BEEN SAYING THE SAME SHIT FOR EEEEEVER, I think I'm speaking on behalf of a lot of us. The fact that the movie was about a gazillion hours long didn't help either and putting a documentary between 2 newschool style movies (Stadaconé and Gunnie Season) may have not been the best idea.
Yet, I didn't chant during the movie because I was actually sleeping, true story.
