that is truly embarrassing for not only park skiers and teenage posers who know nothing about the history of skiing, but also 4bi9 as they were involved, without even being involved.
 
would be a big up for 4bi9 if they called out the troublemakers for being immature lil doodledicks ...
 
thats horrible. no matter how much you like a movie or not, you have to rrespect the energy, passion, and time to create a movie about what they love.
 
agreed? i never said anything about being a dick towards the producers, i didnt attend if3. but i would have to agree that this situation is whack, people spend a shitload of time making films and get virtually nothing out of it besides self fulfillment, whether people like it or not they should show respect for the work it took to make the movie

I felt so bad for that film maker, you could tell he put soooo much work into it too.

They should've played that movie earlier in the day though, there was too much talking and it was too slow a pace for the late afternoon at IF3.
 
It was super lame that they cheered and shit but on another note that movie was really lame.

I'm saying this in a constructive way. Some scenes were so poorly shot aka zooming in on the guys boots, out of focus shots, zooming in on the guy's nose piercing while he's talking, the endless "le ski c'est ma passion, ma vie"...ok we get it, the shot of the guy in a shower, the 15 year old who was rambling on about how he does other stuff in life besides skiing and not to mention the film maker who got up on stage to say he's nervous then says the word fuck about 5-6 in a 1 minute speech, buddy there were pretty young people there you moron. Anyway I didn't cheer but that movie was a waste of time.
 
for reference that movie was pretty boring at times (not gonna lie) and longer than most people were expecting.

i agree, its horribly disrespectful and the filmmaker must have felt awful.

those involved were obviously drunk and carried away, but you should be able to control yourself better than that
 
well theres some dumb ass kids out there, if you cant apreciate every aspect of our sport wether it be park, b.c., telemark or mougls you are an idiot and you are not a real skier.
 
Yeah this sounds really gay, skiing is skiing no matter what way it is presented to you. I watch racing on T.V cause even though I don't like it I still think any kind of skiing is awesome to watch. People are just to disrespectful.
 
hmmm, maybe I read your post wrong, but it seems like you were hating on park skiing, whether you will admit it or not. I ski Pennsylvania, but trust me the 2, 7 inch "powder" days were like heaven last year.
 
seriously i was there too and damn little kids under 16 were yelling stupid things. that wasd just horrible. im not a big fan of pow but that movie was pretty damn good and filming was top notch. kids need to grow the fuck up or leave the representation seriously !
 
After reading this I am not sure which is worse: that the kids were so rude, or that people allowed it. Gone are the days when people actually stand up for what is right. Now if you do the right thing you are telling on someone. If I was there I would have either a)told the kids to be quiet or b) had a security guard remove them.
If you know anyone who was there doing it, post it here. That is ridiculous.
 
except you can't see who's shouting what in a dark theater when everyone's yelling, would be pointless to try.
 
thats just awful... i ski park basically all the time because the surrounding area is flat as hell and i cant get to the mtn. on the few powder days there are im my area, but i still have mad respect for all the bc skiers, and i wish i had had more than 5 or 6 legit pow days in my life, and i love watching all the edits/movies with bc, they just get me that much more excited for the next time i am actually able to ski some powder, whether or not is in the bc.
 
i was wondering what would get you of all people riled up... sounds like some serious bullshit man. hating on powder is just not cool. that said, we need to hang at if3 next year.
 
The filmakers interview was one of the highlights of If3 for me because of how passionate he was.
 
That sounds so shitty, does the filmmaker have an NS account or something? Sounds like he needs an apology.
 
you dont necessarily have to be interested in it, just so show some repect to the people who are, maybe some of the people who are huge fans of the back country were silently chanting "get to the bc already" but at least had the decency to show some respect...
 
It's not so much that people didn't care for the big mountain shots, but the fact that the movie was quite long. There were plenty of unbelievable park shots, doubles, rails, etc. However, there were a bunch of false endings where it would fade out and the music would stop, or the shot would close out, so people started to clap assuming it was over. Then, another sequence would start up, making the immature idiots in the theatre unhappy.

I certainly did feel bad for the guy that spoke beforehand though, he was so incredibly passionate and proud of it and people were booing when they thought the movie had been on for too long.
 
honestly i would expect that from both today disrespectful youth and the majority of ns members (none of which posted in this thread, which i believe represents the highest caliber of active members in this community + about 100-20 more, the rest are unneeded)
 
the word fuck is well used in this situation if you heard the producer's speech at the beginnig.
 
thats pretty f'd up. i feel bad for the guys in or worked on that film. it sounded like a sick and inspiring movie.

 
the amount of disrespect in this thread should give everyone an idea of where the sport is right now...
to many pre-madonnas and not enough guys willing to ski with anyone who is as stoked as them...
too many people caring about what they others are wearing instead of what they are about. its a shame since the true history of skiing was all about the brotherhood and respect, at least it was for me.(and is)
 
This literally happens every year. I blame the IF3 organizers, they always show a much slower paced, documentary-style movie featuring less/unkown skiers and pow riding right before 4bi9's feature. Obviously the majority of people in attendance have been impatiently waiting to see gang signs, tall tees and pretzels. They are not the most mature and understanding of audiences. Yet for some reason, IF3 insists on making them sit through a film that they obviously do not want to see as they grow rowdier and rowdier. I'm not condoning their behavior, but it was inevitable.
