to everyone who was being a whiny bitch during ''Invincibles'' yesterday at IF3. seriously? fucking grow up, acquire maturity or just fucking shoot yourself. one minute you're cheering while the film maker is doing his speech, next you're chanting ''4BI9'' just because you can't possibly stand to watch 30 minutes of backcountry and people talking about their skiing experiences. i mean sure, it wasnt the most enthralling movie ever but the flick captured the essence of skiing, the pain of injury, the sadness of loss but also the great feeling of victory. that movie got me so stoked on skiing and im sure it would have gotten you too if you just shut up and watched the movie instead of yelling ''WE DON'T GIVE A SHIT''. you guys are pussys, a disgrace to the skiing community and, in the future, if you dont like something, GTFO.

also, another big fuck you to the people who would sigh in relief and yell ''FINALLY, REAL SKIING'' everytime the shots would change from pow to park. this one jsut leaves me clueless...

it did but this was even more widespread than last year with Sweetgrass' movie. i seriously yelled at a bunch of those queerios to shut the fuck up and then 5 minutes later security told them to shut the fuck up or else theyd be kicked out.
 
I know CR slayed park. I like to ski both park and pow. But thats just fucking rude and disgraceful to do be disrespectful during a movie. Shit like that gives skiers a bad name.
 
Kids these days have no clue of what real skiing is, or what the skiing culture is about.. all they want to do is look gangsta with their oversized tall tees and be good at rails. thats just wrong, you gotta love every aspect of skiing, if not youre not a skier.
 
don't be a fucking idiot. i know plenty of people who dress like that (including me) and aren't ignorant to other aspects of skiing. its the fucking young kids who have no respect for it. that's all.

I was really, really embarrassed by this. The film maker was so passionate about his project and the crowd's response was disgusting. It really made me hate queeb skier kids even more.
 
I hadn't heard about the film before this, but I watched the trailer and really want to go watch it now. If anyone knows where I can grab it.. lemme know please.
I don't see how it can be boring from the trailer. It looks refreshingly good.

I ski 99.9% park, but I would still never chant things like that during a pow movie. Considering the amount of time and effort people put into shooting, editing, marketing movies, they deserve to be shown some respect.

Having said that, I think it's symptomatic of a sad trend in skiing, where people seem to believe there is some sort of rivalry between pow and park skiing. We're all skiers ffs, let's support our collective industry, no?

 
That is terrible, how can they straight up spit in that director's/skiier's face. Its the FREESKI film festival not the PARK RAT film festival, If this happens in Toronto ima be pissed.

And im sure it was just a few dumass kids that started it, then Mob Mentality took over, good for you for staying true.

 
This. Film companies put a lot of work into making their films and doing BC shoots. If you can't respect that, then you should be slapped.
 
little fuckers need to grow up and respect the hard work people put into these films. filming BC is at least twice as hard as filming park.

It was just a stupid remark on your behalf because I'm sure there are other people out there who find park skiing "boring" to watch as well. Just because you may not enjoy watching a specific type of skiing doesn't give you the right to be a dick towards the people behind the film.
 
This is exactly why I didnt attend. People who spend all there time in the park and think that that's what "real" skiing is. Get a clue. Park skiing is absolutely the exact opposite of what real skiing is. Is there a I Hate Park Rats cult? I dont care if you can blindside switch up 270 out. Thats roller blading. In no way shape or form are metal rails natural to the mountains. Id love to see all of you park rats on your 159 Line afterbangs try and come ski some actual terrian in Utah. Actually you know what stay where you are I laugh at you posers calling youself skiers. Keep on lapping the park and doing some "real" skiing while the rest of us SKIERS navigate gnarly natural terrain.
 
Good god, how disrespectful. I think what gets me the most was when they said that pow skiing isn't really skiing compared to park. If some little tweenage park shit said that to me I'd be so pissed I don't know if I'd just laugh at him or hit him.
 
I was working as a security guard and it was crazy the amount of shit people were screaming. Everybody cheered for the filmaker at the begging and 5 minutes after, they were booing and screaming. Of course it wasn't the most entertaining movie but the amount of efforts that was put in it is unbelievable. The crew deserves better. I mean the producer came from FUCKING FRANCE to show you his movie! Show some respect fuckers.
 
tbh, I'd have to agree. I don't particularly enjoy watching pow/ backcountry skiing either. The only segments I enjoyed from last year were Dane's segment, and Tanner and CR's seg. It simply doesn't do anything for me. It's personal preference.

But, like this guy^, I still respect those who make pow/ backcountry movies in the utmost, as skiers, as artists, as film makers etc, and would never be so rude as to chant disparaging things during a movie. And I still treat pow/ backcountry skiers as fellow skiers and as equals.

 
ill have to disagree with you on what you're saying. hating on park skiers is just as bad as hating on BC skiers. i just look at every aspect of skiing as a whole and we should all just embrace skiing for what it is. that being said, if you dont like it, dont watch it.
 
Not hating on park skiing. Hating on park skiers and most of their shitty attitudes. I used to ski park all the time. Would I rather ski powder everyday..yes. Would I rather watch someones story about taking an epic back country trip and what goes into getting the runs of there life..yes. Do I want to watch someone jump around on a rail for an hour..not necessarily. Do I respect it..yes. But in reality its acrobatics/gymnastics not skiing.
