Nah, still hatin' on Dumont.

I watched the Empire vid from Keystone before the X-Games in 2008, and it's basically the same (without Dumont looking like a candy cane). His rail skills are getting pretty dang good, but for the love...learn some new spins. I mean, yeah, he spun a right cork 3 and a right cork 7...and yes, he was afterbanging very hard...but there is a certain point where I don't want to see any more frontflips. His zero spin shifty was ridic, so props there.

Bottom line: Simon is played. Everything in that video has been done, and done better by people who don't have half the sponsors Simon does. Is Simon good at selling a product? Most definitely. Is he good for our sport? Why not. Is he fresh and original? Hell no. Emulate Wallisch.

Someone should smack Simon over the head with a newspaper every time he does a frontflip on film.

??i can think of PLENTY of pros whose tricks get done better by other people with half the sponsors(or none of them!)... pretty much everyone except sammy, pep, and tanner.

who is REALLY fresh and original? "emulate wallisch"? dont you mean "emulate wallisch who emulates vanular"? "emulate harlaut who emulates wallisch who emulates vanular"? you might as well say "emulate vanular who emulates mickael" get a grip man NOTHING in skiing is REALLY original, everybody cops everybodys steeze and just one-ups it. thats progression.

You say he has weak tricks ALL AROUND yet the only thing you liked were cork 3's. I'm pretty sure that counts as a trick. Also just because he is wearing target logos doesn't mean its a target commercial. You call him a tool because he's having fun. I guess I'm a tool too. Lastly that was a dope song.
 
i definitely enjoyed watching that. he's having a ton of fun skiing, who cares what he is doing or who you think he is imitating
 
haha reading the responses is funny even when simon does what you guys like you still find something to hate on, i think because simon is somewhat of a corporate poster boy he isn't "underground" enough for you anti-establishment, bad ass park skiers. I understand that freeskiing started out like snowboarding as a somewhat underground and counter-conformist type thing but its pretty damn commercial and as soon as anyone states that or takes advantage of that, you start to hate on them. i dunno my 2 cents

Why would simon be a wannabe when every fucking pro is a white kid from a sub-urban. he is just messing around and still is a lot better skier than 90 here on this site.

but after watching this im giving him alot more cred.that was dope.

because he can copy wallisch, ahmet or any 4bi9ers style? watch a superunknown, im sick of seeing that shit

because hes matches head to toe and looks like a wanna be crip? that outfit is absurd...and played

Simon has had ill style and rail skills for years, he just sold out and just started doing double frontflips for a living. Good to see he still gets out there and has fun once and a while though.
 
I want to see a Simon big mtn segment. If he really wants to push his skiing, he should quit comps for a year, get a sled, and follow Abma and Douglas around the Whistler BC. THAT would be cool to watch.
 
that was ill people need to stop hating, the majority of people on here cant do 1/4 of the tricks he did so stop bugging about everything people are saying hes rippin off 4bi9 hes been werein that g suit forever and the editing style despite being amazing wasnt like his other stuff it had a little bit of "joking in it"
 
Really sick, i like wayyyy better his style now ... i mean he always had the tricks but needed more style..
