Silencers for park?

I'm looking at buying a ski for park only. K2 Silencers are $100 cheaper than fujis and invaders, and armada are like $3-400 more. Price is a pretty big factor, and im just looking for a ski in the park. I have a ski for the rest of the mountain already. anyone know what silencers are like in the park and if its a good idea to buy them

there basicly the same construction as the old public enemy, so to answer your question, yes, the silencer would be a great ski for the park!

invaders are like 4-5hun and silencers are 350. I've looked into it. Plus i hear nothing but bad things about line. They break and crack and all that.

never heard more then maybe 1 complaint of the invader cracking...most problems were delams. due to the material they used for the topsheet. it wasnt durable. Line spent more into the construction and got better topsheet material which i hear is a 100% better then on the old invader. invaders are some of the sickest skis...partly due to the fact im geetting another pair

all i have to say about that is that they are K2 skis......they make heavy skis, but those skis are built to last.

holy shit dude! where do you shop??? Go to Getboards.com and you can get the Invader for $300, same as the Silencer, and you will like it more for park. The new ones don't crack by the way, only the firstgeneration Invaders delaminated and it wan't all of them, only some

Never buy off getboards.

way overpriced. takes forever for them to get your shit to you. Really bad customer service.

Just dont buy from there... go to a real ski shop and find some old Candide Labs or something which were great park skis in the first place, and being they are 2 years old, they will be CHEEP. (The shop I work at is selling them with ti 912's for 200, Id expect others to do the same)

You are an ass. Getboards is cheaper than anyone else online (invaders and silencers both for $300). I've bought from them 3 times, and every time my stuff arrived in 2 days. Also, their customer service is great, I've done e-mail and phone with them several times just to ask questions and also to place orders.

Don't trust a guy who thinks "cheap" is spelled "cheep."

if you want another online shop with great prices and service as an alternative to getboards (i'm not saying DON'T buy from getboards, i'm just offering another option), proctorjones.com is my favorite online shop by far.  fast shipping and excellent prices on everything.

wow man not overprised at ALL but they can take forever to get you your stuff and mess your order up but ive personally never had any problems with them

I used to say the same about getboards, in fact I liked them for a while, and bought lots of stuff from them.. but somewhere along the line, they got really crappy, and I had about 5 or 6 orders in a row that were really screwed up.. Which is when the customer service didnt help me very much... Especially during the late season purchases I made...

Besides... look at the apparel and tell me thats not overpriced.. I can get that stuff in store for at least 20% CHEAPer...

All I'm saying is that Getboards < Actual ski shop. Period. If you dont agree with me, then lets at least agree on the fact that we disagree.

The dude starting the thread is looking for some cheep, good park skis, I gave my opinion based on experience.. you dont have to go around calling me an ass and being critical about ONE fucking spelling flaw... especially when I wrote this at like 630 in the damn morning lol.

Damn haha..

You "hear" bad shit about line... they "crack" and all that.

No offense, but your opinion is not very good man...

Invaders have never been priced over 300... since thier conception... and Silencers are 300 or less no matter where you go.

Line skis dont crack any more than other skis... They have the same wood based core that most ski companies use... The only bad thing that I have ever seen from a Line ski is the fact that the old ones were kinda heavy if you used the reactor binding, but who cares, those bindings were safe as fuck, and the first generation invaders delammed quite often...

yeah the only thing bad about invaders in the delam problem and that was last year and since k2 owns them now its all straight

True... they aren't the lightest skis you can buy but that's because they are actually a solid ski. This will be my 4th season rockin' the first gen PE and it's still a super solid ski. Granted, i may only ride like 10-20 days a year, but they are still holding up better than a ton of others skis would.

they are slow skis, like k2's slowest ski. they have the white bases and white bases are the slowest, it's actually some material in the paint that makes it slower than black bases. the color actually does make that kind of difference, it's weird but true.

you can't actually believe this, can you?!? You do realize that there isn't actually "paint" in the ptex base that makes them white right?

Wow, we don't say the Silencer is a pure park ski, because it isn't. It can ski everything. And bases also don't have 'paint' in them, they are P-TEX. The ski has a white base, or a black base. They are swapped.

The only thing that slows you down is a dry ski withouut wax and a ton of underfoot diecuts without a good base grind.

yeah silencers are puure park. they suck even on groomed shit. and they arent' even that good for park...go invader son

i would go with the 07 invaders. they look like a super fun ski. not a huge fan of the graffics though.

i live in canada so thats why my prices are wack, i dont buy off the internet usually, and ive decided not to get them anyway. I bought last years ar5s off a guy on ns which are in good shape, i think they'll be fine. I'll mount them 1 back from center when i get them i think

umm, most stores sell invaders for 300, silencers for 300, and fujis for 330. so you're way off price wise. i have a pair of unmounted 07 Invaders in 178 for $275 if you're interested.
