Silencers, contemplating getting them????

what do you guys think of the 179 k2's im 5'9 190 and not sure about what skis to get, plus im poor as shit so price is an issue. I could really use some help.
 
I am 6' 190 and i just got the 07-08 179 PE's off the REI website for 160. I think they had the 07-08 silencers for 150 but i would move fast because I bet the sell out within a couple of days.
 
i got the 08-09 silencers and the beginning of the season, their a pretty good ski, but either i ride them to hard, or they not the toughest ski in the world but they are dieing on, and fast
 
Getboards does have mad crazy deals,but honestly there has been more problems with shipping and service from getboards then any other website ive ever heard of. And honestly id get silencers, they were my first ski and ive loved them since the day i got em. Their super light,poppy,durable and all around best deal you can get, i bought extremes this year and i can honestly say i like the silencers better, Just sucks cause extremes come in a 174 which is perfect for me and a 169 or 179 silencer is too big, But yea go with invaders or silencers but DEFINATELY dont go with getboards.

for everyone whos sayin invaders, you do realize the silencers are way stiffer? they are two totally dif skis.

as for you Q, the silencer is a fun lil ski. they are pretty stiff new, but soften up a nice amount as they break in, and have a ton of pop. they ski reasonably well all mountain, but they definitely dont have the edgehold of a full sidewalled ski. they are great little jump/park skis tho. i rode two pairs for two seasons, and while they werent my all time favorite ski, they were great for how cheap they are. K2s are always a tad heavy cause of the torsion braided core, but it also makes them bombproof. topsheets peel but nothing structural or anything.

the invader on the other hand, is much softer and a bit lighter. awesome ski, but for bein 190 lbs they are gonna be noodly as hell.

So, if your looking for a 1 ski east coast quiver, id get the silencers, or shop around for a better ski used. if your just lookin for a park ski to jib with, the invader might be a better choice. but being that your 5'8 190, id be willing to bet youll be foldin them in half. the silencers are still plenty pressable, and work better everywhere else
