Sigur Rós=AMAZING!

I agree. Their music is so good to listen to when you want to relax, do homework, or whatever, it is soo good.

ya they are legit for sure. I've always been tempted to look up the lyrics to see what they mean in english but i think that would ruin it for me.

In almost half (maybe more) of their songs, Sigur Ros sings in something referred to as "Hopelandic" which is actually words with no meaning made to sound like words and phrases in the Icelandic Language. The band sings this way because they want the listener to pursue their own interpretation for each song. Some of their songs do have words, but like half or more do not. I do not speak Icelandic anyway, but its an amazing concept. They have been my favorite band for almost a decade, and they keep getting better.

on Agaetis Byrjun, Von, and Takk, only a couple songs are. All the songs in ( ) are in hopelandic.

Hmm...I think I like Von and Agaetis Byrjun as much as ( ). Takk is definitely the "poppiest" one...still good though

and the dvd is awesome! I love the xylophone type thing the guy makes just by walking around and looking for the right rocks. that is the best music dvd i've ever seen. the only other one i have that competes with it is otis redding/jimi hendrix, monterey pop festival dvd.

my girlfriend got it, we watched it on one of our first "dates". lets just say that we got it on to the movie

Rush? Sigur Ros gives me such a huge rush. It's some of the most intense music I've heard. Another thing I love about them is how they conduct themselves from a technical standpoint. Their albums are recorded with 100% real instruments, and they record in a indoor swimming pool using a combination of concrete walls, vertical rugs, mic placement, and rack reverb to get that ginormous sound. Plus they record to tape, which in itself is awesome.

Agaetis Byrjun and ( ) are really good; they have some real gems. However I feel that Takk... is their most polished album as a whole; the entire thing flows like one big story.

My boss gave me like 100 unreleased live Sigur Ros bootlegs, and they are amazing. I even found Phil Belanger's song from Red Tape in there. Go figure.

^ agreed, just their recording mechanics are incredible.
what do you guys think about jonsi's solo project?
