so, i visited Siena today and really liked it. does anyone on here go there/ knows someone who does? if so, do you know where the closest ski hill is? thanks

I know a couple people who go there. One skies at Gore regularly but there are closer hills. Couldn't tell you which ones.

I, too, know a few people that go there. Like Snowcase said, Gore is probably one of the more popular mountains. Jiminy Peak in MA is a bit over an hour away, and Stratton/Bromley/Magic are all within 2.5 hours, I'd say.

lol maple ski ridge is probably closest (30min).

Mt. snow is really the only place worth going to(1:45)

My friend went there, but he hated it. he said everyone there is a rich, pompous asshole from long island. on the plus side, he said that anyone can get into the bars around there.

yeah, i noticed a lot of people from long island, but everyone i interacted with was nice.

thanks to everyone for the help.

u know a freshman that goes there, he likes it a lot.Im thinking about applying there next year.Mount snow is round an hour and a halfand then butternut is like around an hour and has a super legit park

yeah i was in a red/black hoodie that said glens falls football.
i liked it too, thinking of going there because of baseball, uvm is just too expensive for out of state, but maybe with financial aid it will be different.
yeah mt snow hour and a half.

uvm handed me a fat out of state grant that made the difference for me. Don't give up on it yet.

Closest Mtns are Mt Snow, (1 1/2 hours) West (45 min), gore (1 1/2) and all the Catskill mountains like hunter and such. Albany is a great town, I've lived there my whole life (not currently, but I'm only like an hour away). You can ski mt snow all year, and go to west at nights after classes sometimes too.

Im a junior at Siena. Its ok, if I could do it again id go to UVM. I really only ski at Mt snow and Killington, they are a pretty hefty hikes to get to, but a lot of little mountains are closer. Its a ok school, you can get into any bar in albany, classes are pretty sweet. Idk if you get into uvm go their but sienas not to bad, if you have any questions about siena you can pm and if you do go to siena that would be sweet more skiers are always a plus

thank you. i'm still just figuring out what school's i'll apply to next fall, but possibly expect a PM from me at some point, even sometime next fall.
