I'm looking for a ski that will be able to withstand abuse (seeing as i'm just getting into the park scene since its the only thing to do around PA) in the park but can also go and handle well if i want to take a few groomer runs or possibly handle well through moderate pow. i'm 5'10" and 150. Ive been looking at Line Afterbang/ Anthem or Armada AR6/ARW.the reviews i have read so far havn't really helped at all so i'm looking for some advice from anybody who knows their stuff.

i ski at 7springs in PA and i picked up some ar6s for park and groomers that is fun to mess around with but is still good at high speeds..and yeah, ill be honest, im small as hell, im 5 foot 6 and 115 pounds

Any park ski can handle groomers. Just pick the best ski for park and it will certainly be able to carve on a PA groomer.

im also (hopefully) going to school up in Vermont next year so i also want a good ski i can play take with me and also play around in some deeper pow

I would recommend the 171cm t-hall ... Softer flex than the ar6 which will be ideal cos your a girl ... Mount @ -2.5cm for all round shreddin or true center if u wanna be a park rat!

get the volkl wall, it soften up this year, 87 at the waist, wide enough for some pow u will get in VT, i love mine, i ski them here in new jersey, vt, pa, and i went to europe the past 2 years and skied them there and they were amaazing

Symmetrical skis are crap in pow, and 87 is not wide AT ALL.

You said you wanted something good on groomers before, which usually doesn't bring pow to mind, but if you want something more versatile from Line then the Blend would be a sweet pick.

I have the Afterbang with griffon 12 and they fucking killzz it! They are soo good at rails, the butterzones is also so good the a-bang has the best butterzones i've ever felt! haven't tested them on jumps yet, so im stoked for next weekend to come!

thats my dilemma ha, im stuck here in PA with the groomers this year but then next year i should be going to school in vt and skiing all the mountains up there. and i gotta say im a huge fan of the glades, but i want to get into park with rails and jumps and all. I want a nice ski that will be fun to ski and last me a while

Consider two pairs of skis maybe?

If not check out kung fujas, this year's have rocker, last years don't. I'm in NJ and use disorderlys, but I don't think they would be too cool in powder. They do great on groomers though. The chronic wides might be good too, or the blends, or if they have a girls ski of those.

YEA PA skiiers if Line get anthems or chronics idk about Armada though

i ski blue knob alot and seven springs a little

if thats the case you're going to want to go with something that could handle all mountain and not just a park ski which will be good for groomers, since you're going to be getting into some light pow later. if you really want to go with line, the Chronic and Blend are probably the 2 best options for you.

I'd recommend line chronics. They kill the park and the groomers. Not the greatest for pow but not really bad either.

I work in a ski shop in pittsburgh so i know exactly what you have to work with, i would say for a girl there is no better ski to go wtih then the arw but if you ski more aggressive then you would have no problem with the ar6

do you work at willis? if so, what one?

and yeah i agree, like i said before, the ar6 sounds prime. its pretty much just the thall, just with normal flex points which stiffens it up a touch.

get rossi scratch ghettos

the best park ski ever made and for east coast pow they will be just fine.. those things can take so much abuse and still be fine.

Lines Women park skis are the celebrety and shadow so id go with either one of thoes

or possibly the Armada ARW

i talked to a guy at buckmas ski shop and he recommended more of a boys ski just because i am so tall.good idea? i like the shadows but hate the graphics ha. i'm leaning towards the chronics or arw?

well how tall are you? and much do you weight, and your ski level? that will determine if you can properly flex the ski or not. chronics may be a little stiff IMO, i say arw

i am 5'10" and 150. i can handle it on the steeps and glades but havnt tried the park out too much, im about 40% park and 60% mtn at the moment but once we finally get snow this year it will probably eng up being 50/50 since theres no real excitement in east pa around the poconos.

chronics are going to be too stiff for you, get the ARW. Armada is a super legit company.

ive never had a problem at all with skiing them in pow, and 87 isnt wide at all!? shes skiing on the east coast not much pow here, its WIDE ENOUGH for some pow in VT.

any park skiwillslaygrroooomersfuckspaceswhtiefkid

move to west coast(860 for 14 years GTFO THAT PLACE SUCKS TOO MANYT PEEPS). i did.

I AIN"T NEV4 GOIN BACk

Go for the Anthem, but they looks like shit this year! But the construction is ill! They are thicker and doesn't have the flex as the A-bang, but if you are going to ski slopes and still have fun GO for the Anthem!

for as much all mountain skiing as you're doing, don't get a true twin and don't center mount whatever you end up with. riding any amount of pow on true twins is rough, i've done it on invaders and disorderlys, and its a chore. i would say check out celebrities, but you're too tall for their largest size. that said, 169 kung fujas is 95 at the waist, soft flex, with a little bit of rocker. they're fun all mountain, and a ton of kids were using them as their park ski up on the glacier this summer. i'm kinda surprised no one said to check out the roxy back magic/dynastar big trouble/6th sense big. 92 waist, pretty soft (black magic) to medium (BT, 6th sense big) flex, and 20m turning radius in the 175. mount it about 2 or 3 cm back from center and you've got your skis.
