I am just curious and thinking about SIA right now.

Can you actually purchase items at SIA? If I was there could I buy some 09 stuff or what? I don't really know what it's all about, so someone explain to me.

i'm not positive because i've never been, but i'm pretty sure it's mainly a product promotion to get retailers to sign up for shipments of the next season's gear. i do know that a lot of the hard-good manufactures only change their graphics for the "proto goods" of the coming season, and not the actual guts (i.e. skis) even though they say it'll be changing. other than that, there are a very limited selection of booths that may perhaps sell a very limited selection of goods. most don't, though, so don't get your hopes up.

You can buy some things.. outerwear and clothes and accessories and stuff, but you cant really buy skis or anything right at the event..

Some of the smaller companies though.. you might be able to work something out if you can get in touch with the owner of the company and have them hook you up with a pair of skis or something.. Not sure.
