Shuffles are indestructable.

This weekend my parents found my long-lost ipod shuffle in the backyard by my drop-in ramp. I lost the thing near the end of last summer, meaning it has gone through every type of weather imaginable. It was rained on, snowed on for a few months, and survived the spring thaw. Today I plugged it in expecting it to be fried. To my absolute-fucking surprise, it still works perfectly! I have no idea how this little thing survived.

I normally don't see ipods as very durable, but I think the shuffle is an exception. Anyone else have a similar story?

my old nano was pretty beast, the battery lasted forever, but i died when i dropped it in a puddle.

The amount of times i have crashed in pow and had my shuffle unclip and been lost in the powder if not for it still being connected to my headphones have been too many to count. Just brush the snow off and keep going. Those things are little troopers.

both of my ipods burned out, 2nd gen nano and a Classic. yet my 1st gen Shuffle is still going strong. also, the new shuffles are stupid.

my brother stepped on my shuffle charger. have a perfectly good shuffle with no way to use it.

yea I think its bc they use a flash drive (no moving parts) but I don't know much about technology so I could be totally wrong

my shuffle has that exact story except the day after i found it outside working..it was clipped to my shirt while i did pond skimming and its gone R.I.P

I dropped my shuffle in a bowl of cereal and without even noticing it sat in there for about 30 seconds. Let it dry for a few hours and it still works perfect. Not to mention it unclips from my shirt sometimes and just falls in the snow and still continues to work.

My friend wore my jacket outside last winter and my ipod nano was in it. he lost it. i thought it was gone forever. i just found it like 5 days ago. and its perfect i shit my pants when it worked. it lasted winter summer then winter again.

Washed and dried mine and it works like a champ. If it's dirty just throw it in with you wash. Out it comes brand spankin new

devices cant fry if theres no electricity going through them. so as long as your thing is off and you let it dry, your fine

i fell one time and lost my shuffle. someone called me because i have my number on the back of it, and they told me they had run it over. it still works perfectly although it does have a big gash in it. i guess it adds to the bad assness of it.

my 20 g first or second gen? ipod went through the washer...and then the dryer...and it still works..fucking awesome...maybe cause that things like a brick compared to the new ones

found an ipod nano 4gb once laying face down in the mud with water inside the screen.... the water dried and the ipod worked perfectly... sold it for 100 bills hahaha

mine has fallen in snow, water, mud and pretty much everything else while skiing and works fine, once it fell in the snow and snow got packed in the headphone jack. I just crammed the headphones in there and it still worked no problem. a true miracle haha.

I have had my purple Ipod shuffle since it first came out. I listen to it so much too, and the battery is still nearly brand new. I have beat the shit out of it too, scootering, and skiing.

Totally agree. I've had my shuffle since Jan 07 and it's been through all sorts of shit.
The 2nd gen is where it's at

I dropped mine through the spokes of my bike onto a paved road while going like 30 mph... my headphones got wrecked, but the ipod was fine. still have it.

i wear mine on the outside of my helmet when skiing and it has been snowed on and fallen on many times, still kickin

Except not... You can't turn a battery off, and water conducts electricity, so if you get water inside it, it could short it out and fry. If you had ABSOLUTELY drained your battery, then it might work, although capacitors and other things inside may still hold electricity.

i have a 2nd gen ipod nano it has gone through the wash twice the battery last forever it is chipped all the way around athe screen is all scratched and i dropped it off a chairlift that was like 50 feet up, not really sure how i did that but it still works perfectly

I have the first nano still, it's not broke but it freezes when if receives any sort of shock (not electircal shock). Impact was the word I was looking for.

I have a shuffle too. My dad kinda broke it when he was mowing the lawn, it got wet or something. I opened it up, took out some of the parts and dried it. Then it worked again, but it always flashes red when plugged into the computer. He bought a new one before I decided to do that and so I got a free shuffle.

My shuffle has been kicking for over a year now. It has survived: skiing with it clipped to my goggle strap in any weather imaginable, getting frustrated and throwing it against multiple walls, landing on it skating (this bent the fuck out of the clip though, had to bend it back to fit in the charger) and generally abusing the fuck out of it and it still lives.

hell yea thats awsome man, i had a original mini and that thing lasted forever through everything than it randomly died i was very sad indeed.

not sure how mine still works. i take it skating all the time and tend to fall on it a lot.

is Sparta.

I had a 2nd gen but the parents put it through the wash, and fried it. found a 3rd gen, it's been awesome except for the fact that the headphones are cheap as fuck and if they break, it's useless

I've destroyed both Shuffles I've owned. Ran one through the washing machine in a pants pocket and it didn't turn back on, and slammed another one in a car door and it didn't even have a button left to turn on.

I jumped into the pool with mine in my pocket, 30 minutes later realized it, and the next day it worked fine. NOT a single prob since. Im a moron I know. But seriously

Kudos Apple.

my classic started playing up (pretty broke) so i drove over it with my car 4 times and screen didnt break which i thought was a good effort

i clip it to my helmet strap when i ski so it's easy to access and change volume/song/pause/play

My friend snowboards, and it was hanging out of his pocket all day while he was sitting on it and falling a lot and such, and at the end of the day it was just a cube of ice. It still works perfectly.

I also have a nano chromatic that is so broken I can only charge it, shake it to put it on shuffle, and wait for it to die. I have no idea how it survived what it has

ever been skiing with an ipod in your inside chest pocket, had to take off your gloves, go into your coat, and change the song?

it's annoying. i just hit it on my head, boom
