Sold a few, also bought a few more on sale, mostly done touring lately and walked up in the park until it melted away, guessing its the same for most of you guys. Summer ski resorts will open soon, also our indoor resort just opened so I can ski park again.

Always open for suggestions for new additions, been looking at sakana, pescado, marksman and chronic, all are on sale here now at 50%

Ive ridden both, i def like the new 3s more, although hold off on the 2020s; almost all of them will snap if you mount pivots due to the factory fucking them up, there shouldve been a recal imo. new 3s have more energy, and want to GO way more than the old ones, and they feel just as nimble despite being wider.

Interesting luke!

I love the 19 3.0s, I have not been on the 2020s yet, to many skis not enough time. the 3.0 are surprisingly good, even on hard groomed/ice, you can go 60mph sending it off a roller, and it just feels nice

they will rock jesters, with binding freedom inserts though, hopefully that helps the 2020s

I agree, the new redesign when they changed it back to 112 it’s way better. I didn’t personally have any durability issues and I rode mine everywhere. I did some touring some resort, mostly groomer and park days and they held up great. The 20/21 ski has a new core that’s a little heavier but a little more durable and has an even higher speed limit so absolutely cop if you’re looking at one and you like the old skis

Dentist dad might not get the call from the other dentist to start skinning before sunrise if he is still skiing on last years $1200 ski.

this is what you call the last minute low budget COVID backcountry setup

have this exact same bc set up and its great on the downhill, reliable as hell and fun in any conditions because of the stiffness and shape of the ski, but heavy as shit on the uphill

YES! Join the cult, dance when you ski, do lunges, get in the flow! Thinning my quiver is exactly what I said before I got my telemark setup

I've got a pair of 22D Axl bindings and Scarpa T-Race shell size 26.5/27 with a couple liners that didn't work out for me that I am willing to sell for cheap

hopefully they don't get discontinued because EP left Line. Been wanting some for a while

I got both pescado, and sakana on sale this summer for $350 including our 25% vat, just to good to pass up.

I liked the 2020 better than 2021.

and yes, lets hope they get to live

Its interesting to see americans talking telemark skiiing, I used to do it for about 15 years or so, but my knees just dont like it anymore.

Telemark is blowing up in MT. I was ripping around on alpine with my friend who telemarks for like 4 years until he finally convinced me to try it, and then I gained so much respect for his ability to keep up with me when I was on alpine

Been looking for a setup since last year, hoping to find a 24.5 boot soon

Damn, I think I'm trying to get rid of my Axls for like $150, but they are a large and the smallest boot they will do is a 26.

I think if you aren't certain that you will like Telemark, go 75mm, and definitely go for 22D bindings or BMF (I think I saw a pair of BMFs at Second Wind recently, but no tour mode). Don't even bother with BD and I'd only reccomend the older G3 Targa or similar bindings if you are looking for more of a fuckaround setup. But if you are pretty confident that it's gonna be your jam there's no harm in jumping straight to a NTN setup though. It was insane how much more in connected to the ski I felt with NTN. Avoid the first version of the 22D Outlaw if you are looking for used stuff.

Highly recommend puttin on some tunes and just dancin around on groomers only for a few days by yourself to get the basics and form down. Don't fall into the trap of riding with your friends and doing the whole trial by fire thing where you are making alpine turns most of the time to try and keep up. Even better if you can convince another friend to join the cult too

I’ve always wanted to try tele too shit is so cool. There’s a guy at Sunday River that can carve switch on tele skis better than I can carve going forwards and that honestly inspired me to try it. Any recommendations on breaking into it? Maybe take a lesson or something?

If you are looking to get into it on a budget, it's pretty easy to find stuff for cheap on the used market. If you are a big spender just send it on NTN bindings, it will feel more confidence inspiring being used to alpine bindings and if you don't like it it won't be very hard to sell because of the recent growth and tech development in telemark. I learned on my friends 97mm Libertys and then once I wanted to commit I put tele bindings on my daily drivers, ON3P Jeffrey 114s, and learning on pow skis with not a ton of effective edge, and dull ones at that probably wasn't a great idea, but I'm used to it now. I think my ideal tele ski would be something pretty directional, 100-110 underfoot, and relatively damp.

I had my friend who has been telemarking for about 6 years teach me, but he is a horrible teacher and was just yelling at me the whole time. My other tele buddy we just got real stoney and he told me to be fluid and dance and that kinda helped. Mostly it was just taking a few days alone to focus on carving groomers and going slow and fluidly. I'm still not great, but I'm starting to hold my own in dicier terrain and feeling more confident in high-consequence stuff and bumps, riding chop and crud at high speed is where its hardest I think. Not gonna like it does kinda suck to go touring and getting to a cool zone and not being able to ski it as well as I would on alpine skis, but I really like the challenge. Absolute Telemark on Youtube is a pretty good resource, but some videos are really long if you have a short attention span. If you can get a Tele lesson on hill that would be the way to go.

when I started tele, there was only LEATHER boots. sadly not kidding.

I was at REI the other day and genuinely considering getting a 3-pin setup with those fancy Alpina 75mm hiking boot lookin things and those 90mm underfoot nordork almost-backcountry skis. My friend stole his moms leather 3-pin setup and skis em at Bridger a few drunken days a year.

skis with some nose rocker and a decent shovel width make a difference for sure. i haven't tele'd in years but when i learned i remember one of the most helpful things was to focus on your upper body, specifically the arm/shoulder opposite of your lunging leg being out front and helping lead the turn. if your upper body is composed, you'll be balanced and your leg movements will be much smoother. you can't get away with piss poor form like on regular alpine gear

just putting bindings on blade here as well, but not sure our indoor where we can do maybe 20-30mph will do it justice
