How do you like the 108 vs the 96? I have the 96 and am considering getting a custom 108 next year.

They are similar skis. The 108 feels like more of the 96. I feel the extra width and weight when I swap, but the 108 cuts crud a bit better maybe? Haven't had to many pow days to compare them. Mostly just skied slush or hardpack this year.

probably gonna sell the side seths and get a set of marksman. I dont own skis for just normal skiing right now.

yeah im super excited to get back into some pow. Been stuck in the southern hemisphere for the past 12 months so i havent had much but park and ice - heard nothing but good things about black crow tho so cant wait to take the virginity out of them

My FIS racing skis are narrower, and older, just not in pic, will try to figure out a way to get it all in 1 shot.

Rossis made it to the pic as they was just picked up from the guys that usually tune racing skis here. Such a fun ski, but it keeps you alert.

Ha ha! If I had a wide enough lens, you would laugh! But I can ski them! ;-)

I sized down on the 96s and they feel like significantly less ski and I am likely going to swap up to 186 to get a bit more of the 108's stability that I love, but still keep a bit of that lighter and snappier thing (also softer?) for smaller mountain days and park days.

I have a tough time just because I'm in AZ, and i'm usually skiing slush or hard pack this year. I didn't have the wildcat during our 4ft dump, but had plenty of fun on the K108. I really like the K96 for our conditions here, except when it's just wind blown and icy. That's when I wish I had a Wren, commander, woodsmen, etc.

They are all fun, but the Wildcat rails the hardest for me. It holds an edge well, and I feel like it drives a bit more rather than being a neutral ski.

Just got a pair of JJ Ultralights for a steal at the end of the season to complete my quiver. Also have a pair of next years gold Pivot 15s to mount them up with. Don't think I'll be needing anything else soon unless something breaks on me. There's a lot of overlap in the park category here but I like hanging on to my old beat up skis even if I know I won't use them.

185 Line Chronic, FKS 140; -2.0 from center - Skied these as a daily park ski for 3 years so they're beat, pretty much just a rock ski now

How do you like the Rangers?

LOVE the ranger 102 FR, so much I got another length, I have no idea how the 102 FR isnt much more popular, its one of my favorite chargy skis that can park/jib/freeride still. after getting it I did 70-80% of my skiiing on them.

This is actually a congregation of all of my friend's skis a few seasons back but it is the only time I have more than one ski at a time pictured.

These skis served us well.

Huge facts, I tried this thing out and it’s a banger ski but Fischer doesn’t market it well at all. The shop I work at is gonna carry them next year because I demoed it and was insanely impressed

Means you can deals on em if you look around. My dad grabbed a pair of 108ti version in the wrapper for around 300 last fall.

Have you tried the ranger in 191

Yessir, I have the fischer ranger 102 FR in both 184 and 191cm, I'm about 189-190cm ish myself, about 215-220lbs

184 is at +2cm

191 is at +3cm

Dont be afraid to go +3 or heck even +4cm depending on weight and style

I've hit carves at 60-65mph on the 184 on black slopes, its just friggin amazing, then huge hits on rollers, then laps in the park the 191 scales things up again and is just rock solid, but super fun to even bigger on, for slow speed stuff and misc nose butters and such I prefer the 184 but thats just my skill level. the 191s at +3 are superfun for going switch fast! honestly the 184 feels way more solid than any 184 or that "short" ski does for me, but the 191 doesnt feel to long or hard to manover.

where I could make the 188cm atomic bent chetler fold super easy at +2cm, heck even the 186cm enforcer 88 I can make fold rather easy, the ranger 102 184cm at +2cm stays solid. Stock tunes seems pretty agressive.

On chopped up piles of refrozen stuff with snow/ice under just carving fast, then sending it of the piles they were amazing, and again the best non metal ski I've skied for hard conditions like that, large moguls forming everywhere and it was just fun fun.

You can get them for around 200-210 USD! on sale in europe now (world is going shit)

In my country I've seen only one store carry them, I found them by random when looking at other skis there, tucked away in the very far corner of the store, hidden behind other skis, for sale at like $700.....

My biggest gripe of the season was not getting to try them on proper deep snow as I tend to grab 110 and 120 mm thoose days and we had very few powder days working with work schedule and load.

If you like to CHARGE and play, get a pair.

Been force to do ski touring lately, so chetlers on shifts... was really considering putting a shift on the ranger 102

Nordica Ace as my park / beater skis , Armada ARVTI all mountain and now park skis, potentially my favorite ski of all time , but the edge is starting to go . Dynaster factory pro slicers , fun all mountain ski, softer than the rest of my skis , a little long for me . And some old suspects I bought when I was 15 and had a growth spurt so I needed longer skis the next year

I have the bent chetler 100 and am looking for a heavier more directional ski, how different do you find the FR 102? Is it significantly better in chopped up snow or crud? That's where I find the bent gets bullied at speed.

FR 102 is not any heavier

I find the 102 FR, beeing what I dreamt the bent chetler 100 was.

the 102 FR , is heavier than the bent chetler,

BC100, 188cm = 1820grams

Ranger 102, 184cm = 2100 grams

Soooo about 280 grams. Thoose grams seems to make a massive difference as for stability and ability to handle crud.
