Haven't seen this thread floating around yet this season. Let's see what you got.

What are your daily skis and what skis do you ski the least and why?

Are those Revisions with a Backcountry sticker?

Are you trying to get people heated?

Need a trigger warning or what?

My quiver consists of:

Dont worry I took that picture before the Backcountry fiasco. It was removed right after.

Also I think Backcountry stopped trying to do what they were doing.

How do you feel about the black crows

I'll let you know at the end of the month. I have a pair of "rock skis" as well and those are the only skis I've used this season thusfar.

Fuck this thread

As a fellow broke college kid, do some shopping. Got a pair of Saloman Threats for like 30 bucks and some Volkls with Dukes and skins for 240. Go to thrift stores in mountainy areas and ask your buddies if they'd sell you an old pair for cheap

Some of the first twin tips available, Line Darksides, I got those back in 1998(21 yrs ago? shit!) and they have been used and abused.

All these skis were bought with a minimum wage job while i was in college. The most expensive pair were the revisions (brand new) for $300. You always gotta be on the hunt. Picked up those blackops this year for $95!

Those were my first real twins as well. Delammed from tip to toe piece way back when... traded in for Skogan's.

Jeeezus that DPS and Mwerks set up is almost 2k alone. $$$$

Friends don’t let friends pay full price. Got the DPS skis 1/2 off.

At least 3x pairs of skis visible in this photo we’re fully hooked up.

that being said I’m no longer a minimum wage ski bum... the quiver runs deep these days.

Here’s the film kit

At school currently so I don't have any pictures but, I got last years Kartels, last years Line blends, Black crows Anima, and 2015 Armada al dentes.

2018 Head Caddy 176

2018 BD Helio 105 175

2019 Vishnu Wet + 183

2016 Armada BDog 176

2018 Armada JJ Zero 185

2011 Ninthward HHP 176

2011 Hart F17 WC

My current "daily" are the Wet +'s, which replace the caddys, which are now my rock skis. Gave my dad the Helios, and he uses the BDogs sometimes too. The JJ Zeros are for when it gets deep, the Ninthwards were the first skis I bought myself cause they were $100, but now I don't wanna wreck them cause the sentimental value they hold to me (I still use them). The Harts are a great bump ski, and were a steal for $200, but still have the marker demo bindings they came with. My last mogul run in a comp, I ejected just from skiing too fast halfway down the mid section and haven't really trusted them since. Hoping to toss some pivot 18's on them and get some proper use out of them this season.

ON3P Woodsman 116 - 187cm w/ pivot18s

ON3P Kartel 108 - 187cm (i think) also with pivot 18s

4FRNT YLE - 187cm w/ the bright yellow STH2 16s. Now relegated to an early season pow ski. They're on their last legs.

4FRNT Raven 184cm. Bought them to go tour with and threw guardians on them and was toying around the idea of just throwing pivots or something on them to make it another fun inbounds ski to ride but i wanna get the bases repaired and throw some better touring bindings on there maybe but my boots (Technica Mach1 MV 130) i dont think are compatible with all the cool touring bindings out now. Guardians arent the worst but for that specific ski, probably not the best binding imo.

4FRNT Devastator LTD 184cm (not currently mounted). Incredible topsheet art, super fun daily driver ski for everything, and even outlived a few pairs of bindings before having the sidewall/edge blowout underfoot thanks to a bad cliff landing. I had one shop tech tell me that its a lost cause to repair them and then had another tell me its definitely worth salvaging so idk what to do, i wanna get the bases fully repaired cuz they have realistically only been mounted once. They still got life.

Did you buy most of those bad boys with or without bindings already on?

Looking to diversify a little bit. For the past 4 seasons I've owned only one pair of skis - the jskis whipit. This year I got a pair of ON3P Magnus 102, which I've loved so far, but I'm feeling ready to get a pair of stiffer all mountain skis. Waiting for the right deal to pop up so any advice on bindings would be appreciated

4/6 were bought without bindings. I'm not picky about bindings as long as they're a 16din. Slightly nervous about the Salomon Warden that came with the liberty's cause they're 13.

I always drill them myself with a paper template to save $.

I have a Black crows Nocta as my pow ski and it’s my most favorite ski I’ve ever owned.

I had a black crows viator park ski and sold it after one season. Not a bad ski but there are so many better park skis out there.

I think black crows can make good skis but they need to figure out who they are. You can’t be all things to all people. Armada does not make race skis.

Backcountry was a bunch of douches long before QVC bought them. I worked for them in 2008 in salt lake.

They are more of the race, Nordic, telemark ski kinda people then park. Funny seeing them trying to be hip when they are totally into the stuck up outdoorsy vibe.

Plus the break room wreaked ass. Think unwashed Amish people mixed with Whole Foods.

Armada jjs - pow / western all mountain ski

Line chronic - park/soft snow all mountain

Armada arv - urban/jibbing

Rossignol GS skis - on piste charging

Saloman slalom skis - tight turns on piste

Plus a pair of XC skis

I find i ski the chronics and GS skis most living in ontario, and then out west it is the jjs and the chronics. Slalom skis are a new addition last season, really makes a differece being able to fit twice as many turns in on my 82m home "mountain".

Now all I need is a touring setup....
