Show me your quiver

May be a little byis but here is my Current set up. Enjoy!

961573.jpeg

-185 line blends with pivot 14's (park/urban love the flex on this ski especially the low key Manny flex zones can hold nose Manny's for days)

-184 k2 reckoner 102. Will be putting the other set of pivot 18's like marksmans. (These skis are from the future and I have only demoed with a pair of marker demo bindings. Pretty flex but also stable due to the carbon make up.)

-184 k2 Marksman with pivot 18 mismatch. (I absolutely love this ski it can do just about anything and I noticed myself riding her in the park more then my blends and chasing powder more then my Mordecai's. Put in about 30+ days on the original ones I bought in sept Lucked out and some how managed a warranty before shit hit the fan and now have a fresh pair that I've only skied once)

-185 line Mordecai with Forza pivot 18's (my pow ski real fun but understand why it was replaced by the outline.)

-185 line Eric Pollard pros with pivot 14's (Japan ski that has never been to Japan)

Work at a shop in Denver and used to and really like giving reviews. If any one has any questions or would like a more extensive review of any of my quiver or perhaps something I might have ridden would be more then happy.

Hope everyone is keeping it together peace

Moment Wildcat 108 @190 with Shifts

This particular ski has the tip and tail of their wildcat tour to make skinning easier, but the layup of the inbounds wildcat. I love these things, and use them most days in the PNW for resort and backcountry. Light, stable, and fun.

Nordica Blower 110 @185 with Markers

Very old pow/rock ski that weighs a ton, has no rocker, flat tails, and is kind of a weird ski. Will probably leave the quiver soon

Atomic Bentchetler 100 @188 with Look Pivots

Park and low snow ski. Very light, poppy and fun, but not really chargers.

Rossignol Seek 7 86 @182 with Marker Alpinist

Super light mountaineering and volcano ski, the pair weigh less than a single of any of my other skis. They work surprisingly well in pow and soft snow but suck in heavy snow and breakable crust.

Next pair: super fat ski >116 that can tour

Little late to the party but these 2 bad boys joined the quiver for next season! Black Shifts are going on the JJs and next years Forza Pivot 15 for the Mags. Complemented by Faction CT 1.0s because they’re arguably my favorite ski ever and a limited edition Prodigy 2.0 collaboration with La Clusaz. Quarantine deals are real boys and girls!

As newschoolers tradition goes, expecting upvotes for the ON3P's and downvotes for the race skis. Former racer turned ON3P junkie but used to ditch skiing gates on pow days and headed to the park the second training ended so I like to consider myself one of the good ones

Left to right: 2016/17 ON3P Kartel 108 181 w/ Rossi FKS 180 (believe it was the last year of the Rossi Pivot Graphic), 2019/20 ON3P Jeffrey 108 181 w/ Look Pivot 18 (Quick ship custom, stock everything except for white eagle graphic), 2017/18 4FRNT Uptrack Col 181 w/ Marker Duke

My poor skis miss the snow. I have a problem with buying things I don’t need and I have way more than I deserve… anyway,

170 Blend’s: Very easygoing and fun, especially at slower speeds

Ski blades: waiting to try :)

Vishnu wet’s / pivot18: I only have 6 turns on them so far

ARV86 / pivot18: Park and training @ home

Dynastar bump skis 176

SFB 176: Very quick and fun; I bought brakes too big and have bent them to hell and back so now I am afraid to ski them switch.

PBJ 188: Pretty burly for me; haven’t skied them enough

Dynastar Menace 181: My favorite ATM

Bent Chetler 120’s 190: Look like Swiss cheese because I screwed up the mount multiple times; haven’t skied yet

Deathwish 190: Yay fun

Deathwish Tour 190 with shift's: Dumb choice for 1st 50/50 setup but I like how they ski :). Quite capable in park with low swing weight but I don’t want to break ‘em :)

Wish list: some 4frnt Raven's with something lighter than shift's.

Nordica OMWs with Jesters (brakes removed) as the summer setup ski

Vishnu Wets with attack 13s as my every day ripper. These are the funnest skis I’ve ever ridden

ON3P Jeffrey 108s for when it snows a bit and for future overseas trips. Got some pivot 14s for these bad boys

ignore the blends, they snapped

963485.jpeg

Blends for pretty much everything and then some blue houses for bc/pow. Pretty much all I need unless someone wants to trade blends for frankenskis

how do the pin bindings work on the on3ps? I have a pair of Alpinists that I really wanna put on on some woodsman 96s but I'm worried about the woodsmans being too heavy

The K108s with a cast system are very heavy, so I use those for touring to build booters, hitting slackcountry, or any shorter tours that are more downhill focused. For straight up touring, I sized down from 181 to 176 K108s with G3 ions and they work great. They don’t feel heavy on the way up and don’t feel chattery on the way down.

How do you like touring the Visions? I was looking at pairing either those or the Mindbender 116 with some Icelantic Pioneers for the PNW. Also, how hard can you go on the Tecton? I’m super worried about snagging a pair and hitting a single jump just to break them or eject downhill 50ft...

Updated my quiver a bit from the last page. New pivots since I went from WTR to gripwalk, also new touring ski.

183cm Line Vision 108 w/Tecton 12

181cm Line Sakana w/p14

188cm Armada ARV 106Ti w/p14

186cm K2 Mindbender 116c LTD w/sth2 13

179cm K2 Hellbents w/p14 (nostalgia wheelie pow ski)

964555.jpeg

Apo Kai Pro 177 + some Rossi bindings (first frrestyle pair, was so stoked)

2xLine Tom Wallisch Pro 178 + Pivots

Faction Candide 4.0 188 + Salomon STH16

And if someone is wondering about the wakeboard, it's a Hyperlite Hashtag + Slingshot Shredtown bindings.

I’m a big fan of the visions for touring, it’s got to be the lightest ski that I feel confident skiing normally on, at least from skis that I’ve tried anyway. Can’t say the Mindbender would be a bad choice either, not nearly as light though. I always got plenty of float out of visions in deep snow even at 108 underfoot. Although next year there’s a vision 118 if you’re so inclined. The tecton is my favorite touring binding, I love that it has toe release similar to a shift, but in a much lighter package. I was comfortable skiing it inbounds plenty but if I was charging on it inbounds very frequently I’d probably get something else or just use an inbounds ski entirely.

Those Rossi's actually look fun as hell for bombing groomers.

964855.jpeg

Here is my quiver-

From the left:

2003 Salomon Pocket Rocket- The OG Pow Jib tool. They are trashed and retired but I might glue and clamp the damage and remount them. It would be crazy to ride them again as they were my first twin tips and the ski I had back in high school.

2007 4FRNT VCT- Stiff has hell and a bit planky but these things rip. They are fat enough to surf pow but are traditional camber and side cut so they rip groomers really well. They are the ski I know will tank though any kind of crud etc. The bindings are so old the shop wont touch them when I got new ski boots last year so I might remount them.

2012 4FRNT CRJ- Almost the polar opposite to the VCT. They are poppy and really playful and float through powder really well. They swing really fast for 188 and are my favorite for tree skiing when its soft. They dont carve groomers well at all though which is why I need to get my VCTs figured out.

i saw someone last year on old pocket rockets and i wanted to ask him about them but he wasn't a very friendly dude. i was so curious, how do they feel compared to modern skis? they must be soft as hell at this point, right? prob light tho too

Thats lame the guy wasnt chill about it. If I rock mine at a resort I would be stoked to show them to anyone who asks. Its been so long since I have skied them but yeah they are prob pretty noodly at this point since they are foam core and it breaks down over time. They actually are decently stiff underfoot then get really really soft to the tip and tail with the "Spaceframe" shape. If you look closely there is a rib that goes down the center and the "Paddle" part around it is very thin. I just ran downstairs to compare and did a flex test and surprisingly they are still stiffer than my CRJs.

I actually used them as a park ski for a while when I got my VCTs. They had a good pop, could be thrown around really well and were super easy to butter. They would actually compare more to a somewhat modern park ski that had full camber. One of the things I remember about them is they make a strange sound when you knock them together, almost like knocking two pieces of chalk together.

They are extremely light and a few years after they were introduced they really caught on with the touring community. I have actually seen more Pocket Rockets with AT bindings than normal bindings.

Shit, after talking about them I think Im going to have to remount them if I can fix the edge. I still have the old marker bindings somewhere too.

Thanks man. Yeah it’s funny how they’re kinda like some modern park skis. I’m honestly surprised they still have any stiffness in them but that’s great that you might ride them again! I’ve been regretting getting rid of my skis from that time and before, now that I want to compare them to modern skis

nice, how you like the camox & freebird?

It's my 3rd pair of Camox and i think they are the best all around ski I've ever been on. Super durable and the 18 meter turn radius makes them exel in mogul and off piste situations. Rocker makes them real easy to pivot, but they carve on rails when you really lay into it.Great park ski too, super solid. No Freebirds there, not really a touring kinda skier. I like to ride the lift.

They're super fun to haul ass on for sure

Sometimes you have those days where the back bowls are super crusty so you just throw on some cheesy Euro-techno and bomb groomers all day.

I love to bomb groomers at 60mph+ and jump on rollers, its somehting satisfing about doing low altitude, loooooong airs.

Also its the one place that the park rats and kids actually gives you tons of cred for, becuse they are to thin to hit 60-70 and get enough speed to seeeeeeeend it ;)

Ref camox, I have a pair of unmounted ones, picked up just before corona hit and was waiting on binding :o really looking forward to try

Added some US military 220’s to the quiver. Found them at a neighborhood garage sale. Make for some wall art when ready.

[tag=132989]@zmvnk[/tag] wanna write a few lines more on the marksman and what you like/ dont like? I love the topsheet, its the 18/19 right?

2017/2018 J Skis Whipit the "Hot Dogger". It's a shame the whipits are out of production cause these are really fun.

965063.jpeg

2019/2020 Faction CT 2.0's, lacks durability (like everyone on here says) but still doesn't change the fact that these are stupid fun to ride on.

Mine are the 18/19’s. One of my favorite things about this ski is its a-symmetrical tips and tails. I ski with my feet real close and sometimes they may overlap, with the a-symmetry they ride really well and you don’t end up going ski over ski and crossing them up and eating shit. The center is 106 so they are a little wider but the tips are 132 and tails are 126 they float well enough for most pow days but are mad fun just all over the mountain. I ski a lot of park but also like venture off into the woods. They are not as quick for combos on rails but real fun and you feel real solid especially off jumps. I love the rocker profile and with the carbon braid in the tip and tail they have really nice pop and hold an edge but not too noodly. When i travel and can only bring one ski this is always my go to. Also pretty durable skid over 40 days on my original pair before the edge in the tails started separating....got them warentyed and now have a fresh new pair to romp. The one thing that i do not like is at high speeds because of the rocker profile they chatter a little but nothing to crazy. Hope that answered a few of your questions. Definitely would recomend copping a pair while you still can k2 has discontinued this ski. Check out Evo’s website they have a few pairs on there for cheap!

Sold a few, also bought a few more on sale, mostly done touring lately and walked up in the park until it melted away, guessing its the same for most of you guys. Summer ski resorts will open soon, also our indoor resort just opened so I can ski park again.

Always open for suggestions for new additions, been looking at sakana, pescado, marksman and chronic, all are on sale here now at 50%

I really dont get how so many of you have so many skis.

Hahahahaha me too

i couldn’t imagine needing more than 2-3 pairs. Like at most a soft park ski, a stiff park ski, and some powder boards

summersale! and I wanted to test some skis! I just wanna try them a few times so I know what is out there.

Getting demo skis in "my length" (long) seems to be non existant, demos in general is hard, and most of the time comes with restrictions on use.

Usually I test them 3-4-5 days and resell thoose I dont wanna keep. since most stuff is 50-70% off I usually break even, heck sometimes make some money. Also they work as wallart, and my friends of course love it as I'm basicly a free ski rental.
