i have one from REI for digging jumps at my hill and stuff. its lexan really light it is back country acess or something like that i didnt really care when i bought it. but it was lik 45 and metal one was 50 or so i cant remember to well. i think it is kind of funny they sell avi shovels in southern wisconsin

i have a True Value Greenthumb. its small kinda, but gets the job done. it was 8 bucks too. nice for snowskate stuff since its all pretty tiny, but only good for adding on to already made ski jumps usually

if u r shoveling alot of pow get a life link. They have a garentee if they break the'll send u a new one. If your dealing with ice like me all winter get a black diamond. It comes apart and the blade is metal.

 
haha what about jeffy's little spade/knife/saw/everything shovel?! hahah.. a good shovel for backcountry goes for like $47 and has a saw in it for cutting your pit for snow tests. you can get some cheap ones at www.cascadetoboggan.com i believe. i got my new life link one for free from my cousin! her brother is gonna kick my ass when he finds out i have it! eek!

Funny how massive corporations and media giants like NBC refuse to support new skiing events like big air and big mountian, yet they use the latter's image to enhance their own. Actually, not so funny. Suck it, NBC.
 
In my opinion LifeLink's lexan shovel are overall the best. I was told you shouldn't have

an aluminum shovel because It could block transceivers signals, I don't if it true. But the aluminum shovel make a great plate to set your

camp stove so it doesn't melt in to the snow.
