Shoutout to the Dumont

I'm going to argue that, history repeats itself and has done so with those who 'rule' the sport of freestyle skiing.
Once upon a time, not too long ago(4...5 years ago, maybe), Tanner Hall was one of, if not the most hated skier on NS, and although I can't remember exactly what overthrew the balance, he has re-graced (he was once before loved by newschoolers, following his revolutionary stance to the park) to his position of NS god
Simon Dumont, originally loved by NS for dominating in pipe, going bigger and more balls out was hit by repercussion of tricks and failing to get on the dub-wagon, along with his obvious anger when losing, fell from the heavens of NS. At the depths of NS he was stepped on by every twelve-year old and their mom; potentially highlighted by the hate that ensued after winning big air at X last year with the double superman.However, Dumont stepped his game up, following with dubs in the pipe, switch-ups on rail, pretzels off, then recently came dubs on kickers, reinventing himself as a skier who can compete with anyone and in a recent JOSS video, showing uber respect for Jon and his competition. Dumont is back, and unless the wolves that NS get to him, he may just stay.
 
i'd say jacob looks like he is about to cry even more (check it out, behind and to the right of dumont)
 
i fucking swear this exact same thing happened last year.

everyone hated dumont then his joss edit happened then everyone loved him.
 
yea good for him for landing a dub 10 (two years later) and destroying that hip. imo though he's still a douche and isn't going to win a slopestyle event anytime soon.
 
we all know that simon's main competitive focus is on Pipe.. he really didnt need to learn dub's until rolland and bertoni started throwing them in the pipe.. id definitely look to see the dumont throwing dub 12's in the pipe in the near future now that hes got them under his belt.. and everyone is forgetting, he can throw dub flips in the pipe while a lot of big air guys cant do that in the pipe..hmmm..
 
hes always been sick. i think the NS hate peaked with him winning the x games big air. dont hate him for winning, hate the twelve year olds that voted for him.

 
never been a real dumont hater. but stoked on his edit regardless. im always glad to see him outside the pipe, reminds me of the forward/high 5 days when he still really did ski everything. id love to see a full video part out of him again sometime soon.
 
He had some good parts in the earlier PBP movies.

And to the person who said he was similar to T-hall with the NS Ferris Wheel of Favor, not true. THey are totally different. The initial dumont hate was because he was a bad loser, and he won X with a double front flip. Tanner's hate was justified in my opinion. He would come on NS and make an insanely ignorant thread (e.g. where did the One Footers thread go?), he can hardly speak english sometimes and lives to smoke up and ski pow and then calls park skiing dumb in an interview. I mean, sheesh.
 
yeah. and he actually had some sick footage in PUSH, but after that was when he pretty much went full pipe skier. which is a bummer, because hes really good outside the pipe as well.
