Should ski patrol be required to wear body cams

No. Fuck that come on. Maybe if u want them to carry Guns too.

do EMS or ambulance nurses or doctors wear cameras?

Safety patrol should if they're gonna be taking passes

Down with this… enforcing “laws”/taking your hard earned money with no proof besides their word.

On the other hand ski patrol = saving your ass for minimum wages

If they are gonna try to pull passes it would be a positive thing for everyone involved. For most of what ski patrol does I dont think a camera would matter though. The mountains that give speeding tickets and that sort of thing should probably concider this though.

I honestly hate the whole dick sucking thing that goes on with ski patrol and how some people act like they can do no wrong. Shout out to Deebie for really giving patrollers that gluck gluck at any chance he gets.

Yeah obviously anybody in any position can do wrong, but it’s a good thing to be gracious to the people who are gonna do their best to save your life if you get in a serious accident.

Also dunno if your east or west coast, but west coast patrol Gets props for putting in work to make avalanche terrain open and safe.

What the actual fuck is this about? Unlike trigger happy cops who get a rush out of taking lives and walking away with their qualified immunity, ski patrol actually save lives. Unless you want to see gruesome CPR POV vids, I'm really not sure what the point of this would be. If you have problems with your local ski patrol maybe try not being a dick to them.

Lmao this click baited me because a ski patrol was skiing down with a sled to help someone hurt, saw me waiting with a squad about to do this rope gap, and just hung out for 5 minutes waiting for me to go and get pissed. I’m not a complete disrespectful dumbass so I didn’t do it in front of the patrol. Went down, saw him leave, and ski to someone who looked like they broke their leg…

their primary job is to help people, that should their primary focus, not policing.

Imo theres 3 kinds of patrollers, the guys who do it for the Avy stuff, guys that do it to help people by providing EMS, and guys who want to tell other people how and where to ski. The first two have my full respect however the 3rd will recive none from me.

Obviously not all ski patrollers are bad however "one bad apple spoils the bunch". So to keep people everyone accountable it would be best to have body cams so you dont have one bad patroller who spoils the reputation of the whole patrol.

If you have never had words with a dick head patroller good for you. I am always pleasant to anyone on the mountain up until they start being unpleasant to me so dont come back with "just talk nice to them". I treat everyone like Bladee until they start being DaBaby.??

Remember that small budget your mountain used to spend on the terrain park?… It just got used to fund body cams for ski patrol.

There is no oversight so what would be the point. Unless they start carrying guns in which case now were talkin'.

Not saying that every mountain should spend their entire budget on this, just that if you have the money to spend its not a bad idea. My mountains are Aspen Snowmass do you think given our budget this would be a good investment?

I also just wanna add over the last 3 years and 300+ ski days here, Ive had one negitive experience with one ski patroller and it was 3 years ago on presidents day. The rest have been only positive interactions, we genuinely have a great community of patrollers here.

I’ve never had a bad interaction with ski patrol out west(unless U duck ropes, which is not really chill). I feel like they stick to medical response, and Avy mitigation. Safety patrol has taken on the job of being assholes instead.

Occasionally back east ya still get the dick head national ski patrol members, who aren’t even local to the resorts they work at for a free pass or whatever

why would they? ski patrollers are usually legit, don't think they need to be monitored.

as someone said though definitely for the "safety patrollers". complete jerries on a power trip. need to be held accountable.

Most issues with ski patrol start from doing something you know you weren't supposed to do, and then being a dick about it.

yeah if you're respectful and you just do what they tell you, things won't get bad. plus you look like a complete jackass from their pov if ur doing shit that needs to be reprimanded for. my suggestion is skiing at place where they have a really low tolerance for opening trails and then u wont need to poach

I would want more cameras to see where people get cliffed out at Snowbird and then have to be roped out of. Also to see more Karens on skis trying to bitch at them so we can roast the shit out of them online.

LOL you're the one that fucked up if you pissed off ski patrol to the point where you feel justified in making such a shitty thread.
