I slightly tore my achilles tendon and i have major bruising and maybe a fracture in my heel going to sugarloaf this weekend not sure if i wanna try and ski cuz i dont wanna permanently injure it any advice?

Depends on how bad it is. I definitely probably wouldn't hit any park but you should be good for pretty much everything else, just don't push yourself too far.

No, don't be an idiot. A fractured heel has an incredibly long and painful recovery time, don't make it worse.

i can limp around but walking for too long causes some pain i was kinda aiming for at least some rails and try not to do many big drops, i have to wear a boot for it to support it and stuff and the boot feels exactly like my ski boots so i was thinking it would almost do the same thing

Don't do it. I tried that last season and I ended up turning a tiny stress fracture in my heel into a fracture neededing a pin in my foot. That being said I had 4 toenails removed last Friday due to infection and am skiing tomorrow but infection won't hurt anything it's just irritating but I can still walk fine so fuck it I already missed last weekend I almost went crazy

If your having trouble walking then I don't think you should go for it. If you do then I really would just cruise around on some groomers.

Definitely take some time off it only happened last week. If you can't walk for long amounts of time you last on hill. It would irrtate the tendon possibly worsen the fracture.

Well, slide your foot in your boot and walk around for 15minutes. If you cant bare the pain, take a day off and scavenge for some urban spots.

I blew my heel overshooting a 60 footer to ice and suffered through the day. We stook to groomers and just had fun with the terrain. Funny thing, walking was harder than skiing. I was lucky it was at the end of the season.

This, but try to make sure that you're not going to hurt it taking your boot off, I skied on a sprained ankle last year and the part that hurt the most was taking my boot off. Try pulling on your foot the way it gets pulled when you take your boot off and see how it feels.

But probably best to not ski at all. Think of it this way, you can miss one or two weekends now, or you can try to ski on it, and if it gets hurt, you'll miss the next 6 or so weeks.

Well if your considering skiing I'm going to assume that you don't have a fractured heel. iv'e fractured my heel twice and you would definately know if it was fractured or not. I would recommend maybe seeing a doctor? If you are really eager to ski, then see if you can even get your boot on 1st.

I rolled my ankle the night before I skied and it was pretty swollen. It hurt so bad to stuff it into my boot, but once it was in there I was fine. It actually felt better when it was in the boot. That being said, you probably shouldn't because its your heal and Achilles. But hey dude it's your call!

If you've torn your achilles there's no way you should ski. If you've also fractured your heal I doubt you'll be able to get a boot on. Take at least 3 weeks out and see how things feel then. If you ski you'll make it worse and could be out for months instead of weeks!

Same with me. I had a very badly bruised heal. I thought for sure it was broken. It wasn't, but like you said I could hardly walk for almost 3 weeks. Never knew how much a bruised heal could hurt. WOW! Very painful. Did it jumping into a fucking sand trap on a golf course...of all things

only do it if you feel you can. try jumping on it and if it hurts too much then i'd say i wouldn't do it.

I wouldn't... I feel like every time ud try and turn, it would put weight on it and would hurt rlly bad...

i wouldnt. calcaneal fractures are bad and you shouldnt risk it. i broke my heel about 3 months ago and it still feels a bit weird on jumps. if you just broke it then i defiantly wouldnt because if you fuck it up even worse then theres a good chance youll need surgery on it

Haha funny you say that. Because that's exactly what happened to me. For the first week or so, I literally couldn't put ANY pressure on my heal. Even the slightest bit of pressure on the skin would KILL. After almost 2 weeks of being like that, I finally went to get an xray of foot, and it wasn't fractured. I was shocked, and very much convinced it was broken. It took about a month before I could put any weight on it. Heal injuries are no joke.

doctors said its not fractured but theres some major bruising and i got some weird bone things thats gunna last a while and some kind of swelling cyst thing of some kind but i skied out it just swelled up a shit ton cant really point it now but it was well worth it. thanks for all the help probably shoulda listened more but i couldnt just sit back and let it heal had to get out there for a least a day.
