Should I have gone longer

I bought some 176 Jeffrey 102s and am wondering if I should’ve went longer. I’m 5’9” 150lbs. Originally these we’re going to be mainly a park ski but now they are going to be my all mountain ski that I occasionally take in the park. Do I return and get a longer size or does it not matter and I’m overthinking?

I had some faction 2.0s in 178 that are my all mtn ski. I’m 5’11 and whilst I’d sometimes prefer a little more length for charging, they’re a lot easier to play on than my brothers 184 K2 marksman (we have the same bsl so often swap). If you want to charge then maybe go longer, if you’re more looking to play around and take them in the park a bit then I’d say you’re fine

5’11” 165, I copped the 102 in 181 and it is def a good length for hauling ass and making powerful turns on the hill. Still getting used to them for park coming off 177 armada arv 96s but I don’t think it’s too much ski for rails.

they're perfect! they're 1cm above your head, that's perfect for a do-it-all ski esp if you'll be in the park sometimes

honestly this site is insane about length and it's contagious. believe me, i'm a big ski fan, my charger skis tower over me, but you do NOT need a ski way above your head at the resort and in the park unless you know from experience that you need more length

Yeah I was concerned because I keep reading threads of people who are 5’7” and using 181 and 186. I love to charge but the longest ski I’ve ridden are my 176 gs skis and wasn’t sure how the extra length would feel

I came here to say this, I went way too big with one of my ski purchases early this season and afterwards i was just dumbfounded by the fact that i legit thought I could comfortably ski a 188 (im 5'10.5" 185lbs). The difference between 176 and 181 is truly minimal and unless they are running really short (not actually 176) i think either would work for you. if u had gotten the 181 first it would be fine, but u didnt, and im sure the 176 will ski great. Also, pretty sure the jeffrey is much stiffer than the magnus? that most people are talking about when they are like "go bigger bro, trust" so if youre worried about charging the extra stiffness compared to the magnus already takes care of that a bit.

Ur fine. My 179cm wrens are below my preferred length and I was nervous but they turned out perfect. I'm 6'1", 185. The effective edge on your skis (140cm) is 8cm less than mine but still I think you should be fine. Enjoy the extra maneuverability. As stated above, 176 is like 179 for most other manufacturers because on3p measures after pressing. Don't forget the weight and dampness will also help with any issues you may be worried about with a shorter ski getting bucked around.

Yeah you’ll be golden. Most people adapt to the ski. Like [tag=191934]@SofaKingSick[/tag] said - this website is just obsessed with longer skis.

Thanks for the advice! Skied them today and they were great. Definitely felt like a good size for the skiing I do

That's because ski length is directly proportional to dick size.

Yeah ON3P takes their dimensions after pressing the materials so almost all are going to measure true. My 186 Jeffreys are not far off from my old 192 Benchetlers.
