Should i get new boots?

currently I'm on my brothers old nordics comfort fit something with 60 flex. feel like I'm crushing one of the boots and the other boot hardly flexes. basically packed out both of them. i couldn't get new ones because my mom won't pay and i didn't have the money at the time. no its almost february and I'm wondering if i should wait till next year?
 
(A) Can you ski in current boots? (Yes - see B, No - see C)

(B) Do you want new boots? (Yes - see C, No - go ski)

(C) Can you afford new boots? (Yes - go buy new boots then go ski, No - find way to afford new boots)

It's that simple.
 
Boots are the most important part of your set up- bar none.

With that said $300 will not get you very far in the boot world. This is usually the price point when boot manufacturers begin to offer their nicer mold constructions, but it will be lacking other features (flex, liner, power strap, etc.). If you can swing it, try to get as close to $500 as you can, and get footbeds. If you can only manage $300 plus footbeds, you will have a good quality boot for sure, but it might be either too soft or not as secure around your foot as you might want.
 
If you can't ski with your current boots, try to see if you can buy last year's boot model or if you can find any at your local ski shops. They will be much cheaper than this year's model. If you can still ski with your current boots, you can wait until next year and buy this year's boot model.
