Should I buy from someone with no karma?

Here is the situation.

Kid is new to NS and has zero karma and feedback. Is selling skis and bindings. I want to purchase said skis and bindings. We have an agreed upon price and he is shipping with tracking #. I have all his contact info. However, it took a lot of convincing for him to send it to me and his thread is being bumped by newly created accounts with no karma or feedback.

Shady? Should I buy?

If you want to be safe, as for a picture of the skis with his username next to them. Along with the date.

 
if your supre sketched out and dont need the gear right away you can go through a 3 rd person(mabey someone local to save on shipping...)
 
^haha so he sent two pictures. New ones with his name in them. They look photo shopped. I feel like I might just be getting paranoid now.

Is getting your money back in paypal 100%?
 
Post pictures. You just need a second opinion in wether it shopped or not. If you're sketched out, and conssidering putting paypal's protection to the test, I wouldn't buy them.
 
If you send me the photo I can see if it has been altered in any way by doing a layer scrape (technical). It sounds sketchy as shit
 
Right mate so i did a layer scrape for you and we have a problem. To explain it simply it is similar to an error level analysis performed by forensic analysts. It detects is any area of the photo is brighter or has a noticeably different grain than the rest of the photo. The problem with this image is that the boy sent you the picture on a white piece of paper so obviously it is brighter. I do not have to the tools on my computer to determine if this is because of the colour of the paper he wrote it on or the picture itself. I then a test that in colloquial terms determine how far back each image is from the perspective of the camera (similar to how a non coded 3D photo would be). If the piece of paper was there in the first place then I should be able to place my cursor on that part of the picture click it ........then do a bunch of technical stuff i can't be arsed writing.....and get a read out of the estimated distance from the camera. I Don't, it just says that the data is corrupted at that point. Again this could be nothing but it is sketchy and feel free copy and paste my response to your thread with him. I think it is rigged personally but I have been wrong before and i am only a college student. Unless you can get him to stand in the picture, holding a newspaper, with his username written on his arm (something not white) then I would say give it a pass. I did the best I could hope this helped

Hopefully someone else on NS can hook me up with some cheap skis.
 
you should really consider that some peoples karma is screwed up so you have 0....... it happened to me and know i dont have alot
