Should I buy a ski for the future mounted or unmounted?

Hey guys

I'm planning on buying a ski but I dont want to put on snow immediately. With that I mean that I would keep them untouched in my garage for like maybe 2 years because I want to put a few more years on my old skis before I touch the new ones.

So is it better to keep them unmounted while they are sitting there unused or should I already mount them?

Don’t unless you’ll use them now

Their is no point

Yea I'd keep it unmounted, there is a lot that could change.

You could get fed up with your current bindings of choice and switch brands

You could get a different brand or model boot, or you might change boot sizes

You could find a ski your like more and not even want them, or your mount point preference could change

You could lose your job/develop a crippling addiction for designer drugs and need to sell em quick for cash

Weird fucking question but unmounted obviously. What skis are you on and what are you replacing with? Why is it so imperative to get this new pair now vs waiting 2 years for potential better ones? Unless it's a model that's definitely gonna go out of production and you love them, I don't really see a purpose of this.
