Shops you trust

so i plan to remount my skis before the season starts and ive been told make sure i go to a shop who really knows what they are doing especially when remounting bindings and im not to sure where i should bring my skis to have this done. i live in northwest CT and i usually go to fatty's or suburban sports for everything i need but should i go somewhere other than these shops?

Well idk if you go to wachusett or not but if you do they will mount your bindings in like 15 minutes if they say that they are not busy

If I were to say Colorado ski shop I'd probably be bashed with a stick lol, Judging by the last time I said something good about them on facebook.

But suburban is really legit too, as well as fattys, the owner lives in my town and his kids go to my school.

/claim.

Fatties has always served me well. Also, I know bobs chalet in bristol has a bad rep around here but a friend of mine was recently hired as the tech there and he always does a good job. Only shop I've ever had fuck up a mount was Leisure Time in Southbury. They used too long of screws and dimpled the bases on a pair of Bluehouses I had. With any shop though, it helps to be specific about what you want and make sure whoever you talk to writes it down so the tech gets the message.

i have never had a good experience from mountainside. they fucked up my skis when i got a wax and have an awful selection and everything is overpriced and like 2 dudes know what theyre talking about the rest are gapers or snowboarders trying to tell people about ski gear or vice versa. and i wasnt even sure if the workers at the columbus day swap had ever skied or not they were so bad. they tried to help me find a boot by kept showing me racing or 80's boots when i specifically said i needed a park boot and weren't familiar with full tilt, dalbello or salomon spk's. but i still end up buying tons of stuff theyre cause its real close to my house.

yeah that's the only problem their shit is wayyyyyyy over priced... I bought some salomon mission rs 8's (the boot fitter was really good though, he said he used to do competitions in slopestyle when he was little and not a complete dumb fuck about dalbello and other boots they had their) any ways when I went home I went online and saw the same boots on skis.com for $100 cheaper (i fucked myself)... they did center mount my skis after and came out really good to what I could notice of them. Also they are close to me and I had a cross country meet at Wachusett Highschool so I really didn't have much of a choice.

Our tech Bryan has been mounting for years. We will run over exactly where you want them mounted at the time you drop off your gear. Come by when you get a chance.

holy shat smuda is legit as can be..!

I'll be by the shop in a day or two to pick up my skis and boots BTW, haha.

BTW: I went to the shop like 2 weeks ago to get boots/ mount skis, (and idk who this is right now online) But you guys didn't beleive me one bit that Bryan was giving me a discount on the boots and had me and my dad waiting in the shop for a while on Bryans day off.. I thought that was lame you didn't trust me, I even had a NS hat on and everything, I'm not trying to lie to get a discount. D:

Alex, this is Brian, the one who gave you the savings. I informed my staff there would be a kid coming in for the boots. They just wanted to make sure of it for you.

Alin Haus in amsterdam ny(near albany)

I know that's new york but throwin it out there. Even before I knew anyone that worked there the guys were super legit. They did some pretty epic repair jobs for dirt cheap when they didn't even know me. Good selection of skis and boards too. It's been a more ski oriented place but over the last 10 years they've really pimped out there snowboarding as well.

yeah man its hard as fuck. I tried on my afterbangs after the sidewall cracked and I didnt do an awful job but i wouldnt use them anywhere but at a jam or in my backyard. Fatty's is good as long as you make sure they know exactly where you want it.

Summit Ski and Snowboard in Framingham, MA is super legit. Those guys know their skis inside and out and are always super insightful. It's a really mellow shop too, so if you're looking for a reliable, hassle-free place to tune/mount/buy skis, that's where its at.

ken jones ski mart in manchester is always really good with fitting you into the right stuff. ive been going there since i was 3 and now that im 17 ive bought so many things from there that were just perfect for me

i had another bad experience recently from mountainside at wachusett, looks like im never buying anything there again.

they dont have the best selection of stuff, its more a race oriented shop, but the guys at strands in Worcester really know their stuff. the two owners know more about skiing and ski equipment then anyone ive ever met by far so if your just getting a mounting or service to your skis or you have race stuff go there

Bob's chalet in bristol CT. I am the main tech there and take my work seriously and have pride in it

ask for branden

logged in just to say summit. i dont live in MA anymore but when i visit i always stop by and say whats up. the owner teddy has been supporting park skiing since day one. good people
