Shop messed up my bindings, What to do?

I got a pair of 4FRNT Switchblades for this next season, and i brought them into my local shop and asked them to center mount them. When i got them back they were mounted about two inches of center. Should i get them to remounted? Is their anything else i could do about this?

 
This happened to my friend with his 2011 cronics and the shop was cool about it and gave him 2012 chronics for free
 
If you didn't draw a line on the ski via a piece of tape or sharpie, your loss. Until someone checks what you wrote on the ticket, could just as easily be your fault. Play it safe and go with a line next time.
 
If you don't draw/tape the line, they would put it at the recommended line the company writes. If its not documented they assume the company recommended.

Also is it actually 2 inches off or 2 cm off center? If your two cm I'd say leave it since the switchblade isnt fully symmetrical. You really dont need dead center unless it's a truely symmetrical ski. What I mean by fully symmetrical is you could flip the ski the other way, mount it and ride it with no problems. If its not fully symmetrical the The TRUE Center will be back/forward a little depending on the skis waist and weight. When a ski gives you the recommended line, thats where the ski performs the best in all conditions.

I'd say call 4frt and ask where you should mount the skis for a park setup or maybe your planning to use it as a allmnt/park setup. In that case 2cm back of center sounds perfect. My AR7 is set 2.5 back from center and it kills every where but powder.
 
I would expect if I were take ski's to any shop in the skiing mecca that is Minnesota, that I would make DAMN sure they understood where I wanted them. Of the 2 shops I go to where I have had multiple mounts. I still assume that they don't know shit, and make sure there is an understanding of EXACTLY where I want my midsole to be.

In any case, ski them as is. You may not even notice. I would assume they mounted them on the recommended line.

he shouldn't have to mark his own skis. The shop should always measure. Centermount is a pretty specific request to mount a ski. Id say the shop fucked up and owes you a new pair
 
Actually not really. True center, or core center? Unless the distinction was made the probably mounted core center, and that is probably the recommended line. You will never get new ski's out of a situation like this.
 
Nah, that shop sucks and always has. I haven't lived in Rochester for just over 7 years now and haven't been in Tyrol lately, but I would definitely recommend finding a different shop to support.

They lost my business and the business of my entire family well over 10 years ago due to poor service and employee bullshit. The only times I would shop there is when I was getting hooked up by my friends, other than that, I stay far away from that shit hole.
 
how is he stupid? Ive had two pairs of skis mounted the past few years and I just tell them to mount it at center... they mounted them at center... If he tells them to mount them at center and they dont... hmmm I wonder whose fault that is? The Shop should remount them for free and hook him up with something.
 
sorry but he didn't correctly specify where he wanted his bindings. there are two (2) centers of a nonsymmetrical ski. it happened to me on my first pair of park skis.

^and to add, daystocome is actually completely right. only a n00b shop tech doesn't measure the lines himself, the line already made into the topsheet is part of the graphic and therefore can be printed wrong easily when the topsheet is put onto the ski. it's called being thorough.

example: the thall topsheets from last year were almost all printed forward of the actual mounting position. a shop in crested butte mounted tons of pairs 1cm forward of center because of this issue, something the tech should've figured out after doing the first pair but nope. never trust the mounting lines on a ski that is mass manufactured (the case is different for example with on3p skis, we love mounting those at the shop I work at since every single measurement is exact to the nearest mm, haha)
 
center mounted is pretty specific by todays standards with double tip skis and all. either way if there is any discrepancy in the description, the tech should call and confirm where exactly the customer meant. They are drilling holes into a couple hundred dollar pair of skis. They should be making sure its exactly what the customer wanted. The tech should have been more thorough in my mind.
 
did you tell them center or true center? it makes a difference on a non symmetrical ski. also what was the store?
 
Instead of getting up in arms about it...maybe talk to them KINDLY and see what they say. Then we have somewhere to start
 
Yup this was me. You have to say "I WANT TRUE CENTER. TAKE THE SKI LENGTH, DIVIDE IT BY HALF, PLACE THE BINDING THERE.". They wanted to remount them and give them back to me and I bitched that theres 8 unecessary holes in my skis now. If your shop has good sense, theyll give you another pair of skis, but all evidence is on the ticket to what you asked for.
 
fine ill give you that. but based on the fact that "centermount" can mean a couple different things, the tech or shop should have talked to the kid and clarified what he meant instead of just mounting the skis. Honestly a mistake like this means that they were just being lazy and knew that they might be able to get away with it based on that discrepancy.
 
tat ski shop is obviously a shit show..take them back to the shop and tell them about your concerns and theyll remount for free most likely
