Shop guy literally fucked me over

Hey

So like two weeks ago I got my new anthems mounted at my local shop.

This is my first pair of skis, and thus the first pair of bindings I've ever owned.

So, he charges me 55$ for mounting my Dynastar Px 12 Jibs on them, and when i picked them up week later, I was so stoked that i didn't notice that he had not only mounted the one ski backwards, but also mounted the bindings with the plastic protectors they came with. Wtf?!

Bad resolution, sorry.

I actually asked the shop guy why he'd mounted the plastic things on aswell, and he replied that the screws were too long if they weren't mounted on too.

So, Is it worth having them remounted, or what difference does it make that the ski is lifted above the ski by like 1 cm, including the lifters?

1) 55 bucks for mouting fixs and one backward is the worst steal ever they do it for free here usually

2) i had px12's last year and my friend two and both of us had the plastic thing under i think it's part of the fix i'm not too sure tough

So i dont think i helped but whatever

arnt the anthems symatrical (sp?) so you can mount them backwards i did it on my invaders and i dont think it matters about the plastic things

the mounting backwards problem doesnt matter because anthems are symmetrical and the flex and sidecut are the same in both directions. Yes it is not as aesthetically pleasing, but they will perform the same. Those plastic things are actually a shock absorber thingy that comes with the px12 jib. Your shop tech is right, without them the screws would be too long, but you could cut the screws and take out the shock absorber thing, but you are really not going to notice the difference.

Hahaha, dude, you're fine.

Althought $55 is steep for a mount, you're supposed to mount with those

pads. They're risers. They're supposed to give you better edge control

but also act as a little bit of shock absorption.

Your skis are 100% symmetrical and it doesn't matter which way you

mount them. If I had a pair, I'd probably choose to have one mounted

forwards and one backwards.

He didn't do anything wrong. Chill.

ya dude, you are completely fine....my invaders are mounted with px12jibs as well, and i mounted one forwards and one backwards on purpose. Since they are symmetrical skis, there is no problem mounting them that way. As for the pads under the bindings, they are called risers or lifters and they are not a bad thing to have, seeing as how they are supposed to be used....i mounted my bindings with them on and i dont have any issues

the shop guy did do something wrong. its jsut lucky they are semetrical or he would be fucked. but since tehyre symetrical its not a big deal.

He probably wouldn't have mounted them backwards if they weren't symmetrical, but that's beside the point. As has been mentioned numerous times, they won't make a difference, and the little plastic pads won't do shit. If it means drilling through the base of the ski, then keep them on. Taking them off would be more trouble than it's worth.

I'd still be pretty pissed if a guy mounted my ski backwards so the graphic doesn't match up doesn't matter if they're symmetrical

i would check the tips and tails. Sometimes shops will mount them so that the edge seams are both on the tails. That's what they did with my wolf anthems (but the graphics work the same either way for me)

think before you say "literally"

because that would mean that the man at the ski shop put his penis in your anus.

anyway, like everyone else said it wont affect your performance, but personally i would be kinda pissed if they mounted one with the graphics the wrong way, especially cuz it says "Line" on both ends. same thing happpened to a buddy with invaders, but you can hardly tell because theres no writing on them really

haha i was at recycled gear in frisco the other day getting my new boards mounted and the guy called out from the room "uhhh, hey bro....is......this ski symmetrical??"

Your shop tech mounted one backwards so that the graphics would match up when you do an 'Octo Grab'. Being that the octo is the grab of 2009, you should thank him.

i dont get why everyones acting like its the chillest thing, hes still a tool for mounting them backwards and for $55 id complain anyway

Even though they'll ski the same I'd go demand my money back for the mount. I'd be fucking cheesed if some dough-brain mounted one of my skis backwards without asking me.

i like how people care so much about how their SKIS look like.

you should know that those "plastic protectors" are shock absorbers.

and you should know that your skis are symmetrical

you would buy some skis with "I LOVE cocks" written on it? I mean dude he payed 55$ for that and the dude fucked up his job come on.I'm pretty sure you're one of these " I don't care what i wear i just love to ski" hippys...

Sounds like an expensive mount, but he didn't do anything to mess up the performance of your skis at all. Like said above, the "protectors" are shock absorbing risers that are meant to be on the ski.
And I mounted my invaders one forward one back, and I think it adds some personality to the skis. You might not have wanted the shop guy to do that, but it'll ski the same.
And finally, do you know what the word "literally" means? It basically means you use the denotation of what you said instead of its connotation. Like what it actually means, not what people use it to mean."fucked me over" connotes that he made your life shitty, but it denotes you receiving anal sex from him.We all learn from our mistakes, don't worry. But this would be prime time to call "no homo".

Did you buy both the skis and bindings from the shop? If you did, they should not charge you that price. But if you bought them someplace else, $55 is not that bad. Next time support your shop and they'll hook you up with the mounting. As for the graphic, if you're chill to them and not freaking out on 'em they'll probably hook you up. Don't sweat it.

guess my vocab is extended by now - no homo what so ever.

And yeah, i bought the binding at the shop, which makes the price kinda unreasonable imo. but i'm glad i dont need to remount or even care about the backwards thingy.

Thanks for the replies, this thread's question is literally solved.

i can almost garuntee the shock absorbtion is 100% bullshit marketing.

the purpose of them is to act as a spacer so the screw doesnt bubble the base.

Shouldn't you be complaining about the wellbeing of your rectum instead of complaining about your skis?
