So i took my new skis into a ski store and asked to get them mounted 1cm back from true centre and they mounted them 1cm back from centre. I made sure to say true centre 3/4 times. They said they would remount them for nothin but now they been drilled twice.... I kinda think they should at least hook me up with a refund just a remount??

Ps I know I shoulda just marked them and this would’ve been avoided but hindsight is a motherbitch

This happened to me three times before I started marking it myself. Each time they just gave me a refund and remounted for free.

Kinda hard one to call, people use the terms true, centre, recommended etc fairly interchangeably. I usually ask them to confirm where they’ll mount (ie literally tell/show me what they’re going to measure) before leaving the shop

Read that back to yourself and ask if it makes any sense.

What skis are they? Where is the mount? Where is recommended?

They’re Rossi black ops so the centre is a bit back on them. I did say “true centre” like 4 times but I guess it’s a miscommunication and should of got them to measure and show them exactly. It’s a lesson learnt I guess.

It's not like your gonna notice the ski has an extra set of holes.what more do you want from them?

Seriously. It's not gonna affect the performance of the ski at all, and all those terms get used interchangeably from person to person. 1set of extra holes =\= a ruined ski deserving of a 700$ refund.

I marked a set with painters tape once, like where the edge of the tape was the line I meticulously measured, wrote exhaustive comments on what I wanted, and still got them back at recommended. The store manager assured me that 'it would be fine' ... And you know what, it was fine. But 4 years later I am still maf becuase that was the 3rd mount on those skis and I was stoked AF when those cocksuckers went under.

The moral is- people are morons, buy jigs and mount yourself. Its like bitching that the automated car wash wrecked your paint, NO SHIT.

Where did you end up? Where are the skis mounted relative to recommended and what is recommended relative to where you wanted them? How far off did they put you vs what you were looking for?

i walked into the back of a Christie's Sports with a 6 pack and $10 to get my powder skis mounted for a dump the next day. I left in a hurry cus i was night skiing and they mounted it 5.5 cm back hahaha

It sounds like you're a jackass for not knowing the difference between measured center and camber center.
